Phil Greene Tribute

He's playing the best basketball of his career at the perfect time. If DLo and CO can continue to to heal up (both showed notable improvement Saturday from the Georgetown game in terms of production and mobility IMO) and Dom can continue to be Dom I like our chances.

The problem is we can play like we did against Georgetown, and then we can play like we did in final 10 minutes against seton hall. What do you get from the group tomorrow? And the next game? This team is a roller coaster ride, and all we can do as fans is just buckle up with march approaching. Another burn out and heartbreak would be so hard to take

Agree we are a roller coaster ride and that is because we win when we shoot well and lose when we don't. Offense comes and goes for most teams whereas rebounding and defense are more constants and teams that do those things well tend to be more consistent. Just my opinion.

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's "forgotten hero" has keyed its NCAA Tournament push. Hint: Not who you may expect. http://t.co/E55VyKOmpx #sjubb

It's good to see PGIV get some recognition. My two cents - I think many on this board are hard on him. He wasn't recruited to be an All American. He has represented the University in all the right ways, always gives 100%. He's played injured and out of position. I know some get frustrated with his over dribbling but in his four years I don't think he has ever lost us a game but he has won us a few games (e.g. Syracuse this year and I believe Cincy (maybe it was DePaul) on a last second tip in). He's consistent - you know what you are getting from him.

Can't complain about Phil. Wish we had more 4 year 3 star players like him. If Lavin would have gotten these kind of recruits ,instead of swinging for the fences w 5 star recruits, we wouldn't have the depth problem we have and would be in better shape for next year.

Phil should be remembered as a fearless competitor who has improved each year at StJohn's. He has been a pleasure to watch.

Right he was due for one of these absolute clunkers. Need him shooting with confidence going forward because, like it or not, we rely on him to score. Big 3 tonight too as WE are stated.
