Good Morning Johnnie Fans, Since Rick Pitino was hired, all we have heard was how great he is. His track record, his player development, his coaching style. Well I wanted to hear about it from someone who lived it, and get the first person account of what it really is like to play for Rick Pitino. I wanted to know what it took, I wanted fans and recruits to hear what kind of work you need to put in to succeed under Coach Pitino. I wanted people to hear just how different things are about to be...after all in his press conference Rick Pitino said one of the first things that had to be fixed inside the SJU basketball program was the culture.

So who better to hear from than legendary point guard, and national champion under Rick Pitino...Peyton Siva!

Peyton Siva joins me to talk about all of the above, the expectations Rick has for his players, why the old St. John's players have transferred, personal stories going toe-to-toe with Rick Pitino and so much more. Enjoy!

Here's a snippet of my interview with Peyton Siva in video form, regarding his experience with possibly transferring from Louisville, the recent St. John's transfers, and what Coach Rick Pitino is looking for in the players he will bring in.

Dave, great interview. I was also impressed with how articulate Siva was in explaining the things that Pitino did that motivated him, Siva. Siva didn't talk platitudes or jargon; he was very specific. I can now understand why so many of our guys transferred out. Again, great podcast!

Thank you Tony.

Actually here's a funny story Peyton told me when we were talking before recording...When he got to Louisville he was shy and a "bad speaker" according to himself. He said that Pitino actually forced him to go outside and in public and start talking to people and he would go out on campus and start "Go Cards" chants. Clearly he's gotten much better. Actually had a lot of people say how articulate and poignant he was.

An interview is only as good as the person answering questions, Peyton was awesome. Thank you so much for the kind words
