PAC10 won't add teams because of academics ?

I read somewhere that the PAC10 wanted Texas and Oklahoma in the conference but they wouldn't accept Texas Tech or Oklahoma state because those schools didn't have good academics.
Isn't that ridiculous ? They won't let their smart kids play with " dumb kids " in other schools ?? Can someone explain why those schools take a position like that ?

I really wish people knew what they were talking about.

The Pac-12 is not taking those four schools because Texas won't agree to equal revenue sharing, which is what the commish of the league got USC and UCLA to agree to in adding Utah and Colorado. The Pac-12 schools didn't want rules for 15 and then special circumstances for one.

Do you think Texas would ever go independent in football so they wouldn't have to share?

When they say it is not about the money it is always about the money. Real reason as has been  stated is Texas big timing everyone.

Texas is arrogant enough to go independent but only as a last resort. They will try to conference hop as long as they can, knowing how attractve they are.
