Like many, I've been a season ticket holder for eons.

Looking back on this season, our fans deserve an enormous amount of credit in support our squad throughout one of the most dismal seasons in our history. From long time ticket holders, to student section, to the various youth groups that helped nearly fill CA on occasion, to those who still managed to help half fill MSG or better.

Despite outcomes nearly assured in the first half of play, our fans still rooted - loudly at times.

A great sign of things to come when the product warrants the interest. Nice job, guys.

I'll admit to being surprised by the degree of patience and optimism that survived a pretty grim season.

If Mullin weren't the coach, you would not have seen the patience and optimism
Also knowing that we have great recruiters on staff helped fuel those feelings as well

There was a pall lifted when Mullin was hired. The enthusiasm is infectious and shared by everyone around him. There has never been a guy in our history that so many fans - even those who never met him - identify with. IT's the big value he brings, and the reason this city will explode when we return to top 20 form.

No doubt the hiring of Mullin caused an upgrade in fan interest but the crowds appeared to be bigger and more enthusiastic at both MSG and CA all year.
Even at season's end in the midst of a terrible losing streak the fan support was A plus. I have posted a number of times in the past few years about poor fan support. Not this year.

Especially evident at the Seton Hall game. When I saw that the lower bowl was pretty much full, I figured that it would be a 50/50 crowd (at best). However, place was silent in the first half, and deafening in the second half.

The fans were loud indeed! I can't recall if we were louder against the Hall than against Syracuse.

Excellent fan support this year.

Excellent fan support this year.

Cuse still had too much of the building that game, and there was a segment of our fan base that I believe, refused to get excited that day. They were just waiting for the Syracuse run that they thought was inevitable. We were loud at the end of that game, but that's the only time I really felt it.

The other day, when I went to our game in the BET, there was a lone Syracuse fan, wearing a Cuse shirt and looking like he was longing for years gone by. Honestly, the energy just isn't the same. Manhattan used to be flooded with Big East fans during the tournament. Now, you just see a few here and there. Hopefully, in the next few years, we can flood the streets in red.

Fan support this year, despite a disastrous season, definitely attributable to Mullin, with a slight nod to immediate positive results on the recruiting trail AND the view that the team is headed in the right direction going forward.
