Probably good news for the Big East. G Dominic Artis and F Ben Carter have been suspended by Oregon for selling Nike shoes provided by the school. G'town plays Oregon on Friday in South Korea. The suspsensions are expected to last nine games. It'd be great to punch both the Big Ten and the Pac 10 in the mouth with big wins on opening night on national TV. That's how you kick off a "new" conference!

Oregon was already lacking in size up front, and will have to go up against a huge Georgetown frontline with just one guy over 6'8. I expect that game to go a lot lik our loss to Josh Smith-led UCLA a few years ago. Dude is a beast.

Big loss for the Ducks (especially, Artis).

Josh Smith is a "beast," if he's motivated (which, isn't always the case). If he's in shape and can stay on the floor for more than a few minutes at a time, then he'll be very essential to what the Hoyas do. I would've like to have had him on our side.

Also the ACC. I would love to see PC take it to BC.

Austin just suspened with their other freshman. Damn!

Artis was a Lavin target a couple years back I think. He's small, but an effective player the best comparison I can think of is Nate Robinson. That's a big loss for Oregon, but only 6-9 games so not awful. Especially when you take a look at their non conf schedule. After the GTOWN game, their toughest games are @ Ole Miss and at home against Illinois. The rest are cupcakes, and ole miss might not have Marshall Henderson for the game.

Henderson is eligible to play. He is suspended for the first regular season game and first two SEC games. Of course he could do something else between now and then.
