D'Angelo Harrison posing in a picture with the "Reese's College All-Stars" at the Final Four. All of the players are wearing the "promotional shirt" from Reese except for one player who wanted his alma mater proudly displayed. Guess who

Great photo. The kid was a great representative of the school. I hope he has a successful professional bball career. He deserves it.

Thanks so much. In all the craziness -- and euphoria -- of this past week, D'Lo's been on the back burner. Great to see him proudly wearing his St. John's tee.One of my all-time favorites -- terrific player, fierce competitor, and, most importantly, great personal story. Thanks to Lavin for bringing him here and for sticking with him. Hope D'Lo will be a regularly presence at SJU in the future. (Getting verklempt as I write this.)

Agree with every thing you said except that I hope he is not around CA for the next 15 years as I wish upon him a long and productive professional career. Many of Norms players are overseas making very good money and Dlo is more talented and had a better career than them. I for see great things for him In bball in the future and after the tough life he has had he deserves the best.
Good luck to a great kid , a great bball player and a great representative of our university.

Meant being a regular presence when he wasn't tied up playing, making good money, and having a great life in Europe or wherever.

My favorite St. John's player of all-time. It's a shame that he wasn't able to play with teammates and a staff to space the floor better for him. I'm very glad he was able to experience the tournament. He's such a smart, savvy basketball player, I think he can be successful as a coach or announcer. It might be in his best interest to start that career sooner than later--trading a little more money now playing professionally for a lot more money down the road as a coach. Maybe he can even take over in 15-20 years for Mullin. The program would be in good hands.

He's a St. John's legend. #3 in the scoring books. He deserves that respect and VIP treatment from the university for as long as he's alive. We can't let him drift away from the program. It would be a travesty.

Marillac, just gave you a "thank you" for your post ... but am adding this because I want you to know it was an emphatic "thank you" and not an easy hit-the-button kind.

Sadly, I really believe that the tattoos might end up costing him a coaching or broadcasting job.

It took Mullin 30 years to come home for good, but listening to him now, there is no doubt in his mind that this is home. Same goes for D'Angelo, an adopted son of NYC, but SJU is home nonetheless. Wherever he journeys to, every trip back to Jamaica will be a trip home. Maybe 20 years or so from now, Mullin hands the reigns to him. Maybe it's in the stars. In the meantime, D'Angelo, follow your heart and your dreams.

OHHHH NOOOO!!! he has a Nike shirt on. lol….. D, you were the man!!! good luck in all aspects of your life after SJU and always stop in. ps any word if we stay with UA or make a move?

Tats have really hurt Shaq's broadcasting career. I'm sure they will hurt Lebron James' post-playing career too.

We wore the shirt because it has the SJU logo on the sleeve. He never wears an undershirt but he did in that game.

Huh? Are you comparing D'Lo's potential mass-media appeal with Shaq's and Lebron's, two of basketball's all-time iconic figures?

Seriously? An inability to sound like a coherent 8th grader is hurting Shaq's broadcast career, not his tats.
