Just caught the last few minutes of K State's win over Gonzaga
Saw our old friend Omari Lawrence, who played sparingly and scored 2 points
Has he been in college for about 10 years? :manga:

Read recently that he's already graduated and is pursuing his master degree. Good for him and I wish him the best.

Please refer to him as Dr. Omari Lawrence ;-)

From K-State web site: "Graduated from K-State in May 2013 with a degree in family studies and human services... Currently pursuing a Master's degree in family studies."

They are playing Tulane at the Barclays Center next week, immediately following our game, so you have the chance to check Omari out, if you are going out there.

And former target Jevon Thomas

What the hell is family studies and human services. How stupid is college when you can have degrees as dumb as that. How about majoring in finance, accounting, or economics. Or maybe mathematics.

With the way Wall Street is going he is probably better off in family studies and human sevices

Some people actually do things such as social work and other less money focused careers. Call it dumb but money isn't everything.

No way in hell if I had a kid I would recommend our business to him or her

Seriously?? You don't know of careers you can get with a family and human services masters degree?? How about social work?? Services for people with special needs?? Family counseling??

I don't post much, read everything, but this is hands down the most ignorant post I have seen in some time.

That coupled with the Jordan thread and speculation have me wondering...

This crap doesn't happen at the jungle....

It's funny, with a son in the middle of the college app program, we've spent time discussing his possible career choices. Despite being an honors student and AP scholar who is strong in math, he has zero interest in the majors you can choose with a business degree. A few months ago, he said to me, "Now don't get mad, but I am thinking about becoming a teacher." I said to him, "I think you would be a great teacher. You may not earn as much as other professions, but you should choose a career that you think would make you happy that you would be great at and have a passion for. " My only requirement for my kids is that they earn a four year degree, which can help even if you end up in a trade. It's a little ignorant of you, in an era where too many athletes never complete their degree, to be critical of the kid who not only got his, but is pursuing grad school.

I received my degree from the School of Education at St Johns. My major was Human Service and Counseling and with a minor in Human Resource Management. I received my Masters Degree from the School of Education at NYU. My major was Rehabilitation Counseling. I retired in 2011 after spending 30 years working with individuals with various disabilities such as developmental, physical, and substance abuse. My last position was as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at a major hospital in New York City. In this position it was my responsibility to help who were unable to work because of their disability choose and receive the proper education so that they could find a new career. For example, there was a young man who worked as a motorman for LIRR. He was involved in a car accident where he lost a leg. At this point he was in the Rusk Institute at NYU and he was very despondent and angry since he would no longer be able to drive a train and he felt worthless without his job. Through evaluation and counseling, it was determined that he had an aptitude for computers. He was referred to an appropriate school and when he finished, he was able to find a job in the computer department of a bank, where he remains gainfully employed and his self esteem is intact. It was a pleasure for me to go to work every day with a goal of helping people improve the quality of their lives.
I think that you need to learn to respect the choice of others rather than be condescending in how you view the career choice of others.

Had the third major system fail in the GE Café fridge we bought three years ago. This morning the repairman walked in, took a look, ordered the needed part, and set up the part replacement appointment. You don't want the refrigerator repairman doing brain surgery and you don't want the brain surgeon fixing your fridge.
