I know that Omar is from Oklahoma and that area was called Indian territory in the mid 19th century . Does anyone know
if he has Native American ancestry , his facial resemblance causes me to think so .

Omar has improved a lot this season. I hope he can improve his free throw shooting which was 5/17 last season and 7/17 this season. Sample size is small but it's hard to play at this level when you shoot that poorly.

Omar is a misfit just like the combo of Posh and Curbelo. His talents are playing hard nose defense, hitting the boards and setting blocks for the capable shooters. However SJU hasn’t had a capable shooter until the recent emergence of Storr.
If Omar played on a better offensive team his lack of shooting skills would not be as noticeable and the other parts of his overall game would be better appreciated. It seems the entire Anderson era has been an effort to win without capable shooters in the lineup and it hasnt worked.

Omar has played very well in his limited minutes the last few games. Plays tough D, boards and finishes very well around the basket with either hand on a team that struggles to finish at the rim. His skill set doesn’t seem appreciated by this coach who aside from storr just sticks with the same rotation that has underperformed since day 1

agree on his touch around the rim, reminds me of Earlington.

It's not just boards and d. Stanley, and probably Wusu, are strong enough to clear space for Soriano and drivers. Controlling the space where your best shooters get their highest percentage shots is critical. The equivalent position in football is fullback. If you want to know where a play is going, follow the blocker.

True that Stanley has not been good from the FT line, but he actually has a pretty good 10-12 ft. jump shot.

We would have killed for this kid on some of those Lavin teams when we were throwing Joey Dela Rosa out there and pleading with Amar A not to be allergic to the paint.

He's from Kansas and one of his ancestors was a Kansas City Chief named Jumping Johnnie Feather Duster. He's from the proud Peacock tribe down near the Red River.
True story!🤥
