Was wondering if anyone knows where there may be a link or access to some old SJU games. I'm looking for the 1983 & 1986 Big East Championship games in particular. I did a search on YouTube and found some memorable and some forgettable St. John's games. I've attached links (I only posted full games instead of highlights although I can never get tired of watching Hardy's baseline drive vs Pitt :cheer: ) which include the following:

I know what you mean, I watched the final few minutes hoping we'd win this time around. I'd love to see the games against Indiana & Maryland from that year.

I've got a boatload of SJU games from 80s and 90s on VCR tape, including 86 Big East championship. I have to make the time to get them put on DVD then would be happy to share. Was just telling Dinkins that I would tape the games while I attended them, go out drinking after the games(in addition to drinking during the games) then come home and watch the replays(of the victories) till all hours of the morning.

Just imagine how much more hooked you'd be if your first game was the Ohio St. beatdown where Rob Werdann had the best game of his college career. :cheer: My dorm room was on the 15th floor and I think people on the street probably heard me and my buddies screaming.

Hi, was wondering if anyone else has any games from the 80's? I clicked on 'Newsman's' profile to send a message, but his profile/account is no longer available. I can convert VHS if anyone has any. Personally, I'm looking for games from the 87-88 season, but will convert any games that are not online already.

Seems like you have a great collection. Somehow, somewhere, there must be videos prior to the 80s. I would love to see the early 70s teams featuring Mel Davis and Billy Schaeffer again. Just to see if they were as good as I remember them. Does SJU have a vault with old game videos? It would be great if they could create a viewing room like the Museum of Broadcasting.

Frank Mulzoff's teams should have gone deeper into the tournament. Mel and Billy may be the best front court that SJU ever fielded.
 
yes, that is the game. A friend of mine had it on tape years ago, so I know it was televised, but I doubt it was a nationally televised game.
