I'm thinking that celebrating Jayson Williams will raise a few eyebrows.

He is a proud alum and very generous to alma mater.

This is NYC HOF dinner, not SJU. I do agree with your assessment - no athlete at SJU has ever been as generous to the school to my knowledge. He just has demons and the homicide conviction, but I also agree he is very likable and appears to have a good heart.

Great event last night at The NYAC.

Extremely well attended.

Inductees included: Gus Alfieri, Jayson Williams, Willie Worsley, Olden Polynice, Steve Burtt, Howard Garfinkel, Jerry Reinsdorf, Jim Couch (85 years young and CEO of The Jim Couch Foundation, a basketball empowerment organization), and Sam Stith (St. Bonaventure).

St. John's was well represented, Coach Carnesecca escourted Gus into the room.

Saw The Maven as well as Ron Naclerio

Jayson is in rehab in Florida for the last 7 months and sent a letter that was read expressing his appreciation.

Great to see SJU legend, Mel Davis who is a member of The NYC Basketball HOF Trustees

Nova legend and Bronx native Eddie Pickney was in attendance.

Hoops Weiss and Peter Vecsey were there.

Satch Sanders and Tina Cervasio did a tremendous job orchestrating event

Last, but not least, Tom Konchalski had a great speech about Garf.
