SWEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Islanders this week. Islanders come to msg next Tuesday.
Go for the Trifecta.

Anyone getting a little excited?

Team is on a hell of a run and 4 points out of the last playoff spot as of now.

Win tonight against the islanders had a playoff feel

Very impressed with what the Rangers have pulled off this season so far. At least a year ahead of schedule from my view point, and that's coming from an Islander fan.

I really don't think that the Isles will hang on to a playoff spot this year. Losing their top Defenseman along with the Center and RW from their most important line (Cizikas and Clutterbuck) really has had a major impact on their level of play since December.

Next year will be very interesting. Isles will finally add a top tier Goalie for the first time in forever once Sorokin comes over from Russia. If they can add a sniper like Taylor Hall as an FA to go on their top line then they'll be ready for a cup run.

Next few years in this rivalry could be reminiscent of the heyday of the late 70's, 80's, and early 90's. Should be fun.

It's amazing that Dolan basically leaves the Rangers alone and micromanages the Knicks
No wonder why the Rangers are in better shape going forward than the Knicks

It is crazy for sure. Also funny how the rangers were able to get Panarin for less money than their crosstown rival, and the Knicks lost kyrie and KD to the freakin Nets.

You’d think that would teach Dolan something about stepping back

Well, in fairness to Dolan, Panarin is a Ranger because it was his dream to play for them hi whole life and he was willing to take leave money on the table to make that dream come true. Irving is a Net for the same reason. Only way he'd have been a Knick is if the nets didn't get involved.

But this is precisely my point. Players grow up wanting to be a Ranger, but players also grow up wanting to play in MSG for the Knicks. For reasons we all understand, these basketball players have grown up and when they are free agents they don’t want to take their talents to the Mecca. Dolan and the shit show of an organization the Knicks are have scared away free agents for years.

Kyrie “claims” he liked the nets growing up because he’s from NJ, but he’s kyrie, he’s a bullshit artist.

And kyrie isn’t even the only one who matters. It’s been happening forever. The best free agent the knicks have gotten in my lifetime of following them is Amare and that barely lasted. The hope that a basketball version of Panarin is gonna swoop in and come bring the Knicks back is dead. There is no hope for that. that dream died officially died when KD and Kyrie decided they rather play in an arena with no history, minimal fan support and play in New York without really DOING NEW YORK.

KD’s been asked why he didn’t go to the Knicks. He was clear and honest, he never even considered them. He doesn’t like their culture, the people running them, etc.

It all stems from Dolan and the decisions he has made and been a part of for years. He’s a clown. He’s managed to ruin one of the best sports franchises of all time, and turned them into an afterthought in a league where they are the most valuable franchise by a decent margin.

That shit Porzingis trade they made, framing it as a positive because they’d use the newfound cap space to sign super stars, was one of the most negligent and downright disgraceful moves ever made by a professional sports organization. Selling the fans on this dream that they’d get superstars and ending up with bull in a china shop aka mustapha herons father Julius Randle and some other average players was disgusting. I’m still not over it.

The Knicks only way out at this point is to keep drafting top 5 until they get lucky on a few. Knox, Frank, DSJ, all top 10 picks and the jury is out on all of them as of now. TBD on RJ. Oh well

If I'm on the jury then I've already returned a verdict of guilty on not being much of an NBA player on Knox, Frank and DSJ all of whom I had high hopes for at one time.

The biggest issue I have with Dolan is that he isn't quick enough to fire people. His timing it awful. Like Isiah the writing was on the wall and it wasn't working but no matter what he wouldn't fire him. Why he let Jackson pick frank then fire him made no sense. He should've done it beforehand and the Knicks could've drafted Donovan Mitchell. He also did the same thing this year and waited until right before the trade deadline to fire mills. Hes too loyal his hires. It happen to work out for the Rangers cause I don't ever remember hearing glen close to being fired no mater how many bad trades he made. Luckily the Rangers have a great group of JD, Gorton, and Quinn. Hopefully the next hire for the Knicks is moving us toward a trio like this.

KD wanted to play with Kyrie or another star and Knicks wanted KD and Kawhi not kyrie. However Kawhi wanted to go out west so once that fell through the knicks made the right choice by not going after injury prone and team killer kyrie just to get KD. Unfortunately it meant losing out on KD but i'd rather lose out on him than have Kyrie. Also Kd is 32 with a torn Achilles, so im glad we didn't waste money on him.

The KP trade had to be made. The guy was leaving no matter what and the Knicks didn't wanna end up in a Anthony Davis siutation where the knicks have no leverage and trade him for even less. Yes he's a good player but with all his injuries teams weren't gonna give up much.

The way they need to turn this around is get a good front office who can properly evaluate talent and make good draft picks. Then get a solid coach I think Mark Jackson would be perfect but we'll see.
