:cheer: I really like our chances tonight against Nova, providing we play man defense. Can't believe we would chance a zone against the likes of Arcio........, Bell and Hilliard. Must have the same determination we had with Marquette. Villanova is a very good rebounding team, can't allow easy putbacks. Hopefully, we stop Pinkston who always has a strong game against us. Playing on our homecourt won't hurt. Let's go Redmen!
 
I too, believe a win is possible tonite..We need to minimize empty trips with poor shot selection and be mindful of Nova's 3 point shooting ability. It would be great if we could hit some treys ourselves to spread the floor for Sampson to go to the hoop, without being double teamed and bumped out of the play.

I still say don't give up on Marc and his shooting..He need not make them all, just some, say 3 or 4 to give us a lift.
 
Was listening to the fan earlier, they had an "Ncaabb Expert" on (forgot his name) and when asked about our chances tonight he said 'good, we match up very well with them'

I also think we match up with them. I'm hoping our group come out with some fire tonight.
 
Does a Nova loss knock them out of the tournament? Or off the bubble? Can we play spoiler?
 
Do they play man or zone defense? If they play zone, I don't like our chances.

I think they are in, if they lose tonight, Moose. A loss tonight might knock them down to a 10-seed. Actually, I think they are anywhere between a 7-9 seed at the moment (8 and 9 seed doesn't mean much, as they play one another).

looking at the bright side (put your shades on those who are focused on the crap of this year)
I think we played well on the road against a well respected providence team, and of course against marquette (sans Pointer), we have the ability, hope they do it tonight which (for me) would sort of redeem the entire year - and I'm happy with the NIT.

I also hope we see more of Jones. I'm not sure he can stop Pinkston, but he has to body, nonetheless.

I wished we had an entire roster throughout this season.... Oh, well! Hopefully, we can make a serious run, and make it back to MSG in the NIT. That's a story for another day.

Let's root for our bunch to make a run in the Big East Tournament.... Starting with a win tonight!
 
The person that we need to stop is Ryan Arcidiacono. When he is hot he is their x-factor. Last time we played he cut us up from the outside. If we extend and force him to put the ball on the floor....we have a great chance. If he starts draining 3's....we are in for a long night. I think we will advance to tomorrow night. I will worry about Louisville when/if we get there.

Have to improve free throw shooting, defend the 3 well, and play aggressive in your face defense with fast break opportunities.

Play man to man Coach, and defend the 3. Give up the penetration abit because we have a shot blocker that can help against the penetration.. Play aggressive MAN TO MAN!!!

Branch has got to penetrate against their point guard.. Abuse him.. He is a good offensive player but defensively I think Branch can use his speed to put him on his heels. I wouldn't be surprised if Jay goes to zone against us.. It this happens we have to penetrate zone and move the ball for open looks. Can we hit the looks, however.. We need to shoot the 3 better, man!!! Our % is horrible!! Worse than 30%... we need to be at 35%, minimum!

I'm hoping to seen them matched up with Creighton so Joe3 blows a gasket if Villanova loses.
