Nova & Big Dance Failures

I'm tired of losing to nova, I hate a lot of their fans, some of their players annoy me.

With that being said, I won't be able to help but feel good for those guys if they get the monkey off their back, they truly deserve it

Not saying it'll be Nova but would you take a 8-1 prop bet that a 16 seed defeats a 1 this year? I think this may be the year.

I'd like to see Nova make a deep run back to the final 4. They've had some great players run through that program Reynolds, Lowry, Ray, Foye, Fisher etc. They're the beast of the east and it's been that way for quite some time. Would love to give them a run for their money in the coming years.

According to ESPN bracketology:

1 seeds are: Nova, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Kansas
2 seeds are: Michigan State, Iowa, Xavier, and North Carolina

I actually like all of those teams, except for Iowa. I think they will all one their first round games unless somebody plays terribly. The reason I think they all win is all of the 1 seeds this year are all senior laden teams, same with the two seeds.

But after the top 8 teams, there is a huge drop off, look at the 3 seeds

3 seeds: Miami, Oregon, West Virginia, Maryland

I could see 14 seeds picking off any of those teams. This tournament is going to be insane with upsets, but I think it's a ton of 3-6 seeds going down early, I actually like the 1 and 2 seeds a lot

While the focus here has been on Nova in the NCAA's, I think tonight is a big test for them. On the road, against #5 Xavier. I would not be surprised if they lose, but a win tonight would be huge.

During the broadcast of the SJU-Depaul game, Doug Gottleib went off on a tangent about how Villanova was not worthy of either a 1 or a 2 seed in the tourney. The clear implication is that Nova's Big East competition is not much to get excited about. It's important for Nova to make a deep run this year and prove the Big East skeptics wrong.

Xavier and Providence need to show up big as well. Runs by Hall and Butler would be great too, really strengthen the BE presence come tournament time.

This is not just about Nova, it is also about the Big East.

Nova doing well would be huge for the conference, because part of the argument the last few years has been that Nova is in a weak conference so they can dominate and inflate their ranking. In other words, they're looking at Nova like they would Gonzaga.

Of course it goes without saying that notion is ridiculous, but this year we definitely need a team or two making it past the Sweet 16. Nothing else will silence the critics.

Nova and X should be 1 or 2 seeds, so no excuse for at least one of them not making it to the Elite 8.

SJU is of course to blame as well, only making the tournament once and losing in the 8/9 game. Someone needs to step up.

Is there a fan of a non-big east program who fears their team playing big east teams in the tournament?

I hope this is the year that begins to fade away
