To paraphrase Captain Renault, from "Casablanca", I am shocked. Just shocked that there would be academic cheating going on at the UNC basketball program! :eek:hmy: ;)
 
I would guess that UNC is not the only program that adheres to these academic practices! I believe it is a disease that permeates thru out college athletics! It is all about money, not education! A real shame!

In my opinion the issue is not the laxed academics at UNC but the hypocrisy of Mark Emmett and the NCAA.
 
of course McCants didn't complain while in school. He was complicit because he was too lazy, too dumb, or too disinterested to work on his academics. Sadly there are a lot more McCants in college basketball than true student athletes, and far too many UNCs that place $$ far above institutional academic integrity.
 
Wonder what the reaction would be if a whistleblower nailed St John's for this same stuff. I doubt the NY press would allow it to remain dormant for three years. This is worse than what UConn was nailed for. UNC's academic fraud allowed it to avoid a low APR.

I bet you are right. There are few things more sacred in Raleigh than Tarheel basketball.
