Didn't want to start a thread over something this small but several times per day a poster will post

NM

presumably meaning nevermind.  I could be wrong but NM is shorthand for not much. NVM means never mind.

More importantly if edit an already saved post you want to remove,  delete everything in the post including any quoted text, then press save, the post is deleted.

I always thought it meant "no message".

I guess if you are over 70 that could be true.

The important thing is that you can delete any message you don't want posted by simply erasing everything in the message box and then saving.

I'd cc this message but some people here might confuse Carbon Copy (CC) with Colonoscopy Coming.

I hate to be critical, but the postings of "NM" are utterly useless and should not be permitted by the moderators.

I suspect they post something, change their minds after postin Gand go back and edit to say NM not knowing there is a way to delete it in its entirety.

If the post is harmless as every NM post is why would we delete ? We wouldnt, we are far more concerned with posts that cross the line. We receive enough flack as it is without having to get called out for deleting or moving harmless posts.

My post was intended to be instructional.  Rather than waste a post typing NM, you can simply erase the entire post and save it and it's gone.

And if someone is posting a respose to Redmannorth do they write NM RMN if they change their mind  ? :)

I think it's just guys trying to increase their post count and hoping for some "thamk yous".;)

Because us technologically challenged old dudes dont know how to delete a post. So instead, if we decide to remove the content for whatever reason(IE we're PWI late at night and the next day we realize what a jackass we sounded like the night before, etc), we just remove all the text and type "NM".

When you would write NM I thought you were abbreviating for Nudist Meeting and figured it was some hottie actress thing you had going on and couldnt write a full response

Monte - the primary meaning is in fact "no message."

However, the little-known secondary meaning is "No Monte," which is of course the opposite of the Full Monte.
