This year's NIT will be played with some experimental rule changes, one of which could benefit SJU. The three point line will moved further from the basket, in some areas almost two feet.
I see this as a welcome change to SJU who very seldom match the opponent in three point shooting.I thought this year our two point attempts shooting was good but we took way too many threes without taking the effort to get a better shot.
Teams like Marquette seemed to thrive on three point shooing with multi players more than capable of making a high percentage of shots. SJU has never been able to get this type of player although Lavin brought in a couple of so called experts who couldn't produce.
IMO making the three point shot more difficult ,I hope as early as next season will be an advantage to SJU.
