Nice Dylan Wusu Interview

Seems like a great kid.  He's really making strides this year and is a very capable kid.  Guard/forward hybrid who can back people down and even post-up.  Good decision-maker for a freshman.  He learns to make shots with consistency and he also crates matchup problems for teams.

Also love the fact that Wusu shows zero fear. Not afraid to shoot fom the perimeter of take it to the rack in tough game situations.
Lucky to have him.

As CMA noted, Dylan passes well and has a nice sense of the game for a freshman. Like all new players, he has a learning curve like not fouling unnecessarily, could probably shed a few pounds to improve lateral quickness, but he really looks like a solid four year kid and fan favorite down the road. Nice get by Van/CMA, easy kid to like and pull for.

I am also hoping a couple of talented OSL guys staff are pursuing notice the minutes their former teammates are getting here.

Yeah, I liked the fact that in the quette game, the man of a thousand hair styles, John, tried to intimidate him after a whistle and Dylan just stood right there in his face./media/kunena/emoticons/cool.png

We've generally recruited almost all good kids over the years.   There have been a few exceptions over time, and even though just college students, their mistakes often become public fodder.   Many of us would not hold up under the same scrutiny.

The kid is far more advanced than anyone could have anticipated. He has a real team first attitude and his play has shown he will do anything to win.
a truly great kid who looks to have an outstanding four year future at SJU. You can really tell this kid is CMA's type of player.
looking forward to watch Dylan grow and mature at SJU. His progress will only make it that much easier for CMA and staff to recruit locally.

IMO he will have a breakout sophomore season.   Should that occur, with Julian still improving, Posh growing, and WIlliams, we may just have a decent core to move up in the Big East.

Great interview. He's definitely been the best player this season relative to my expecations. I'm surprised he wasn't a more highly regarded recruit given his size, strength and diverse array of skills.

plus the other two recruits already in the fold! Pinzon, Traore  etc...

Seems to me that some people thought that St John's offered Wusu in order to get Posh. Dylan has shown that he is more than capable of playing at this level. He has a good motor and can shoot, drive to the hoop, rebound, and handle and pass the ball. Sure, he has some things to work on but what freshman doesn't? He has been a very pleasant surprise and should be a major contributor to our program for four years.

Nice to see local recruits do well. It can only help our efforts to keep NYC area talent at home in the future.

I agree Matthew, I also think Posh would have been more highly recruited if he did break his arm and I also think Pinzon and Traore would have been more highly recruited if there had been a normal AAU season this summer.
