new gray unis

I normally like having standard uniforms but I thought the grey with red trim/socks looked really sharp. Much better than the black ones.

I wasn't "in love" with the grays. I liked the change though.
I agree with an above poster that I'd rather go with throwbacks.

This is my favorite uni:

But I'd like to see them go with these:

Actually, the problem to day was that because it was kind of warm today, I didn't wear my lucky St. John's fleece. Instead, I went with an alternate St. john's long-sleeved sweatshirt. Sorry, guys! From now on, I will remeber how important wearing the right article of clothing is.

Was that the debut of that color??

I like tradition home white & road Red

they should wear 85 throwbacks vs marq :) :woohoo:

I want to see uniforms like Golden State just wore with the pinstripe shorts and sleeves. I think they should get those for the BE Tournament. Maybe no one will recognize them and we will win a game

 the throwbacks are on sale for $35 on ebay

I thought the jerseys were very sharp looking. Much more unique than the very standard ones we usually wear. If you don't think the players loved putting on that new gear you don't understand basketball today. It's exciting and fresh. I want to keep these as an alternate and also add a throwback uniform for a few days either similar to the Air Jordan ones we had in the 2000's, or the mid 80's "St. John's" spelled out in that font style. It was nice to finally see some attempt at creativity since we are one of very few teams not to experiment with new looks.

Since I am too old to understand basketball today, I will offer that I prefer charcoal grey with red, rather than the washed out grey the new uniforms were. I'm sure if the colors were darker, the players would have liked them better, and then we would have won. I am certain we have at least 4 metrosexuals on the team, and they would have been elated with a different color scheme.

I think a dash of spring colors, perhaps robin's egg and egg shell would have put them in a March madness mood. Or at least spring fever. Thanks for the advice on not understanding basketball. I am hoping they sell more gear for us old guys that have vinyl chest protectors when we dribble our fiber fortified beverages at games.

I meant that older men do not understand the "swag" factor in basketball these days. Players have twitter and if they were allowed to tweet during the season, they would be tweeting pictures of the new jerseys and shoes showing off. And like I said, I would definitely vote for the 1985 jerseys to be worn for a throwback night or something. New jerseys are fresh and it breaks up the monotony. There really is nothing pleasing to the eye about our normal jerseys. That's just my opinion though.

I know your just trying to be funny but I actually agree with the charcoal grey idea. I wanted a dark grey rather then the one we used.

Charcoal grey actually looks pretty good with red. I do actually prefer though home whites and away reds. But if you are going to deviate the charcoal greys would look pretty good I think.

I like both our Gray & Black alternates, just wish we had better results in them

My exact sentiments. To add, I do like the red and white one also.

Burn 'em.

I'll bring the matches. If they're going to wear 'em again, at least have matching warm-ups, the white warm-ups over the gray were ugly together.

That was my one comment about them, did not mesh with the white warm-ups. Funny, I can't recall if we have red warm-ups for away games. If we do, they should have went with that instead of white if they didn't have matching gray warm-ups.
