NCAA's Rooting Interest

would you rather have Kyle Anderson or Rysheed Jordan? They both averaged 9.7 as freshman, 3 asst each. SloMo just had better rebounding #s do to his size

Just thought it would be an interesting debate. Personally I'd take Rysheed any day of the week

Some great basketball today. Rooting for Providence tonight.

Great question! I'm going to give a cop out answer. It depends on your team. A classic point guard that can create, score and distribute? Or a guy that is a match-up nightmare for any team contemplating playing man defense. Very tough call.

Personally I'll be rooting for all the Big East teams, University of Delaware Blue Hens, St. Louis, and Dayton ( the last two being possible future Big East teams)

Right! That's not a bad starting five. Anyone else we're forgetting.

that's a HORRIBLE starting five, they might average 40 ppg

Horrible is being kind. Don't think we have to concern ourselves with a rooting interest in the NCAA tournament with a starting five of these guys. They'd probably would be dead last in most Division 1 conferences. As a starting five, they'd average under 35 points, with a starting backcourt averaging 5.8 ppg and 3.2 apg ... with Thomas averaging 2.6 ppg on .259 shooting (.189 from 3-point range & .313 on FTs), and Lawrence averaging 3.2 ppg (.167 from 3-point range).

I realize they'd score more with more minutes, but with those shooting percentages, they'd sure have to loft a lot of shots to get those ppg averages up to respectable levels.

I think we are a better team than Dayton, so I won't be rooting for them.

How is Thomas in division 1 with those numbers!? WOW I think Malik Stith had better numbers than that lol

I planned to root for Stony Brook. And once again, all my hopes and dreams came to a crashing halt.

I really like Ron Roberts. Plays tough. Another good find by Norm.

I was just thinking the same thing Simplyred. He plays tough, he rebounds, he can jump through the roof and he's long. He's actually the type of player that Lavin wants here so why he let him walk I have no idea. Roberts is a very good college player. We could have used him this year. He would have been a big upgrade over Gift.

This ST. Joe's team did what we did this year. They went to Europe in August etc. Only they had the kind of season expected of a veteran team who had the opportunity to play the extra games and have the extra practices and such.

I'm rooting for all Big East teams, especially Nova and Providence. It'd be nice if one of them could knock off Pitt, Louisville or Cuse.

Maybe Pointer might play for that group. His shooting and game would fit right in.
