NCAA Tournament Coaches Pay

Wow, I had no idea Coach K was paid that much.

Lavin iss at about $2M + I believe (apparently they weren't able to obtain the information).

Lavin is under $2M. 1.5-1.7 range.

And the list was only Tournament coaches ;)

Do the schools still have to pay the women's coach the same salary as the men's coach, or have they changed that? I can't see Duke paying $7 million for the women's coach. (Actually I can't see them paying 7MM for anyone)

I don't think that was ever the case. Hardly a title 9 expert but they have to have proportional schollies and such not coaches salaries.

And that's why he turned down the Lakers. Why coach a bunch of spoiled divas when you can make that much money at the college level?

If I recall correctly, Lavin's salary is closer to $1.5 million, maybe slightly less, but the important thing is he left money on the table with the stipulation it be used to hire a top notch staff.

Coach K - $7 million? That's a lot of rat food.

Andy Enfield - $135K His team had a run of only about 6 games, and he turned that into a major pay increase.

That list is all about haves and have nots, and it's amazing that public money at state schools can be spent in this manner. Our tax dollars at work.

Darrick Martin =/= top notch

Honestly, who knows. None of us know enough about what Darrick does or doesn't do (well, we know he doesn't go on the road for recruiting) to make that call.

Could see why Lavin would move if he brings success to our program Unless we then would dig deeper into our pocketbook

LOL!
"IF he brings success to our program" seems to be a little further off than we expected.
Take away the top ten coaches who bring in results with NCAA tourney champion contenders every single year, I think Lavin will actually need to improve his results dramatically next year and sign a couple of elite players early to just keep his job in NYC.

I agree. I think if he took us to a final four, he would at least deserve to be moved up in salary to the Jay Wright level ($2.2 million). As long as guys like Repole and others are capable of helping out and influencing decisions in the AD, they'd have to pay him to keep him, because by then it would cost LAvin's salary at least just to hire a Big East level coach.
