Another outstanding summer league outing for LJ Figueroa; he played 29 minutes with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals on 7-7 shooting including 2-2 from three. Have to think he's putting himself into great position to earn a contract of some kind with the Hornets

Excerpt from Zach article on summer league:

There were a number of players with ties to the area, from Julian Champagnie (St. John’s) to Ron Harper Jr. (Rutgers) to Jared Rhoden (Seton Hall). The best performer? LJ Figueroa, Champagnie’s teammate for one season in Queens. The 6-6 wing didn’t miss a single shot in his first two games for the Hornets, building off a strong G-League season with the Santa Cruz Warriors (the Golden State affiliate) in which he produced 16.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Figueroa was a perfect 13-for-13 from the field and 4-for-4 from distance, notching 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists. His performance could net him a two-way contract with Charlotte — or another NBA team.

LJ struggles with quicker players but in the right spot with right team he does enough to possibly latch on IMO. Guard wings, stretch the floor from the corner, and do enough rebounding, ball moving, and scoring in transition where he can be an asset.

Sounds like he benefitted from a year in the G-League

Yes, having watched LJ's summer league games, I like his chances. He looks like he belongs out there.

He is observably ahead of Champagnie in NBA readiness. His defensive footwork and overall speed is much better. And, as we remember from his Johnny days, he is active, opportunistic and currently hitting his shots.

Tough break for Julian, not sure if posted -
