N.Y. Daily News / HOF / C. Mullin

I want to assume Harrison is kidding, but he's so damn cocky so I'm not sure.

When Harrison said it I think he was serious. Since that time, there have been a few well document event of Mullin, at around 50 years old, putting on a shooting clinic for the Sacramento Kings. After that, no one in their right minds would doubt that Mullin is still a deadeye shooter.

In terms of cockiness, when Mullin was advised of Harrison's assertion of shooting superiority over Mullin, Chris scoffed at the notion, and basically said, "Any time, any day."

I rather enjoy this one. . .

Awesome. When you see who shot it, you know that making it was no fluke. It was reminiscent of the crazy trick shots Pete Maravich could make, all of them honed during countless hours of alone time in the gym, perfecting his craft and keeping him from boredom. In the season that the NBA had the H-O-R-S-E competition for NBA players, Maravich would come up with crazy shots, such as spin the ball on your finger, toss it up and bank it in off your head.

A few weeks ago, I spoke to a former LeMoyne player, Matt Cooper, a guy whose stat line suggested that he should have played D1. He played a few seasons overseas. In one game (and you can find it on Youtube) he hit a legitimate 85 foot shot in a game, launching it a few feet away from the opposite foul line. In chatting about it, he said the funny thing was that the next morning, the team's owner asked him to try to repeat the shot before practice. He told the guy the shot was a fluke, but at the owner's insistence, launched a shot from the same spot and made it. The shot had gotten attention in the local papers and on TV, so after the practice a bunch of local kids approached Cooper and asked him to try to make the same shot again. Playfully, he tried again, and then he made the same shot again.

I also like the story from the Olympics, where he took a huge lead over Bird in a shooting contest. Bird made a strong charge, and promptly quit upon tying the score. He said something to the effect of "I've never lost a shooting contest and I'm not going to start now."

So, more power to D'Lo, but this won't end well.

I'd put my money on Mullin. I don't think Harrison knows that Mullin is from another planet where they learn how to shoot basketballs before they walk and talk.

Would love to see this event take place. Would be fun.

DLO IS woofing up the wrong tree! He is, and has never been remotely in Mullin's league as a shooter....

And, even now, Mullin would clean his clock.. DLO is a scorer not, a shooter and asking seriously for a shooting contest with a HOF player, even at 51, is a bit of hubris.

It's not CLASSY TO THINK about Tarnishing legends from our glory days.

Please give me a break, Mullin never, never, never went 0-11 against any opponent in his college days. This kid is dreaming!

I love Harrison's confidence. He's the third leading scorer in school history in the last few weeks of his senior season - he's entitled to some good natured cockiness

Good natured being the operative phrase. I can't believe that some are bothered by this, or take it seriously.

I think some who are predicting who would win or lose are missing the point. How cool is it that there is a connection between our all time great and our current great. I don't remember seeing things like this in years past.

I thought I heard when this took place that he made that shot without any warm ups!
