My plan

First I'll confess I haven't been closely following all the recent threads about Anderson and possible new coaches so what I'm going to say has probably already been said. But here goes anyway:

1 Anderson either resigns or is fired, the sooner the better. He said this is an NCAA tourny team, and it clearly isn't. Grounds for termination.
2 If we haven't already, we, through second parties, should reach out to Pitino and gauge his interest and let him know we want him here next season. And if we get a positive response clandestinely start negotiations immediately.
3 Do not renew the scholarships of Curbelo, Jones and King. The first two have been failures on so many fronts, including being a buzz-kill to team chemistry, and are poster children for Anderson's mismanagement of the transfer portal. King is yet another PG who can't shoot, he'll have a nice future at a lower level D1 school.
4 We need to do our best to retain some key players: Soriano, if he wants another year of eligibility, Posh, who is the heart of the team and was sabotaged by the Curbelo experiment, Storr, who can shoot and just needs a coach who can run some plays for him, and Pinzon, see Storr. The rest of the guys I'm sorry to say are not capable of being meaningful impact players, particularly on the offensive end.
5 If Cragg isn't totally on board with making aggressive changes he needs to go too.

I have never been this frustrated with the situation. This is worse than the Norm years, Norm was over his head before he started, so I'll cut him slack. Anderson is stuck in the past, seems incapable or unable to make changes and his performance during the open mike game showed he seems to have lost it.

I know a lot of this is probably not going to happen for various reasons but what may seem like borderline lunacy to some, makes perfect sense to me.

I agree with everything except I don't think I would punt on Kolby King yet.

We honestly have no idea how he could do under a different coach. He hasn't had the opportunity to settle into any role here yet. If he wanted to stay and play for the next coach I would be down for it.

I agree but you can't just take away scholarships from kids after you recruited them. These are not professional players making money.
every year the 'ships are renewed or not. Curbelo and Jones have been distractions at best and in some cases worse. Pitino tells them they are not in his plans and they look for another school.

Agree re: King…too early to cut bait as was the case with Greg Williams…once opportunity presented itself he stepped up

I wouldn’t give up Jones. Like to see him coached by someone other than Norm 2.0
Jones has never seen a shot he doesn't like, regardless of the game situation. He has also fully bought into the cherished recent SJU tradition of mindless, head-long drives to the basket against three defenders. He's shown himself to be selfish on the offensive end and when he does score he often woofs at the crowd while our opponents wind up with 5 on 4 fast breaks while, once the light bulb goes off, he rushes madly back downcourt to help take the ball out of bounds, if he gets that far.

You think the new coach is going to want to coach him up?

Please, don't compare Greg to King. How many undersized poor shooting point guards do we need?
Not talking about Greg as a soph or junior. He didn’t show much, because of lack of opportunity as a freshmen. That is the point
