Go get Mullin to coach the team. He is one of the few that have the passion for the university and the smarts to bring the program to the next level.

Was there a reason to start a new thread to state that you think Chris Mullin should be coach ?
Absolutely not.

I have said this more than a few times. I think Mullin would be a great coach at st johns.

I have also heard that Mullin was upset when Norm was hired because no one from SJU even bothered to call him and offer him the job.

Many people on this board poo-poo'd Mark Jackson when his name came up regarding the SJU job
Look at him now - you would take him in a heartbeat
I would love to see Mullin coach St John's but don't think it would ever happen

St. John's should be paying very close attention to the Warriors situation. There is definitely some inner turmoil in that organization right now. Brian Scalabrine was reassigned to the D-League and the organization fired assistant coach Darren Erman yesterday. If the team loses in the 1st round of the playoffs, who knows if they bring back Jackson?

If that were to happen, SJU should throw everything at Mark. Could be just the guy they need to really turn this program around.

I'm a big Mark Jackson fan but, the situation at Golden State with the Coaching upheaval and the Warriors losing needs more clarification. Still, Mark would be a big upgrade in my opinion. Most anybody Coaching would be a upgrade over ours right now.

Maybe Mark Jackson would be good, maybe not. I don't know. I do know he's never recruited before and isn't particularly close with the school.
But our fans need to give up on finding the next Looie. We're not going to have a coach that is here 10+ years. Villanova is an exception. That's not how the business works anymore.

Find somebody that can win in the next 5 years, and resign yourself to the fact that by 2020 we'll need another coach.

What losing are the Warriors doing?

Mark wanted a pro job.

Jakarr's good fortune to get a pre-draft workout with Mullin and the Kings.. Sampson will likely end up in the NBADL this season and get a paycheck, though not big $$$.

His game needs a lot of work before it is NBA ready but, he has core talent and sometimes the pros think that's enough to give a look..

@franfraschilla: Chris Mullin and Felipe Lopez will be representing the @NBA at @usabasketball practice at West Point Monday. Two of my all-time favorites!
