Heard tonight is sold out. Should be a blast and I like these types of one of a kind prizes. Well done to Paul S. and staff and everyone else who is making this happen

That luxury bus trip would be awesome provided it has a bathroom. i think Matt A would be the best to take back home on the ride. Could def see a keg stand or 2 break out.

Heard Realfan tripled the bid price and has already won the auction for Quest Coach! :)

@mabde33: These are one of those nights when your really proud to be apart of St John's. Incredible night of support #sjubb #buildingpiecebypiece

@StJohnsBBall: Coach Carnesecca drew a standing ovation while introducing Chris Mullin at tonight's Welcome Reception #SJUBBhttp://t.co/9nX183uAw1

After a quarter century of keeping at least arm's distance from our basketball program, there's something really comforting in seeing Coach C. step into the light without fear of interfering. It seems just right, and I swear that Looie looks like he has gotten about 10 years younger since Mullin was announced as HC.

An aside:

Having attended a bunch of these events and looking at the photos, it appears that 95% of attendees were men. I seems to me that today, as opposed to 25 years ago, successful programs have a much larger % of women attending games and maybe functions, too. While our program hasn't attracted enough students and younger fans, it seems that we still attract mainly guys. Is this just a false perception or is there some basis in this?

Last night's event was FANTASTIC !!

I've been to my fair share of St. John's events, but last night was something special.

You could feel the excitement in the air.

There was an electricity that buzzed through the room.

A great turnout and if they could have secured a larger venue they easily could have had 500 plus in attendance.

Don't know if they have any left (you could check with SJU) but Chris Mullin AND Coach Carnesecca autographed basketballs were being sold for $250.

The over-arching message of the night was St. John's is N.Y.'s team and that Chris and the program need EVERYONE's support (i.e. buying tickets to games, talking up the program AND the University, writing checks, etc.)

Tiny Archibald's message was one of LOYALTY.

4 HOF's in the house: Chris, Tiny, Mitch Richmond, and of course, Coach Carnesecca (who looked the best that I have seen him in the last 2 years).

Saw a number of people that have been on the sidelines for many years. Great to see them at The NYAC.

Slice was very emotional telling a story that as a young boy he went to a St. John's game and found his life's passion by watching Coach Carnesecca and his St. John's team.

It was a life changing moment for Barry and it was all because of Coach Carnesecca.

President Bobby and his wife were at the event for those wondering.

It was a great night...I thought Louie stole the show...he does this bit about how Mullin has been underestimated his whole career...too slow, cant jump! ..Coach Mullin (sounds funny) was great, he went around and took pictures with each table. Slice is a kind of a bigger then life guy and Matt is a bundle of energy...they are going to be a formidable coaching staff. I have to say I do wish Chris was a little less humble and shared some inside basketball stuff with his audience..a dream team anecdote would be great to hear (and work well on the recruiting trail as well)..all in all very bullish on the future....

Greetings JSJ!
As a relative newcomer and novice to this site, I continue to be amazed and grateful to you and the honorable Mr. Paultzman for the continuing stream of wondrous informative & usually accurate "stuff" about SJU Basketball!!!
I was searching for an analogous resource or fount.......
Rosetta Stone? (found 1799) no
Holy Spirit third of trilogy? no
Holy Grail? Yes as defined:
something that you want very much but is very hard to get.
You and Mr.P render it (the scoop on SJU Basketball) not so hard to get at all!

Thanks, appreciated, keep it going.
