Sounds good, but the guy would most likely be in high demand.

The time came three years ago. If and when the time comes for a change the Board of Trustees and influential donors must insist on an independent committee with only A.D. Goff involved in the selection. The president should just be a pro forma approval of the negotiated salary. No nickel and dimed salary offer so that we are truly competitive. A successful program with positive national exposure, especially if NCAA sweet 16 worthy, would pay for the salary in free publicity worth millions.
No one ever seemed to grasp the concept at St. John's.

Goff should be nowhere near the process either

I like Goff and think he is hamstrung by the Mullin reporting line conundrum. The A.D. must be involved up front. This president was fooled once and I don't trust his decision making any more now than 3 years ago when it comes to Division One athletics.

Goff was hired after Mullin. So if he is getting blamed for our last coaching search, he shouldn’t be.

Agree to disagree. He's just not good IMO from what I've seen and heard. The entire house needs cleaning

The last two HC hires (including assistants) were at competitive salaries so that hasn’t been a problem.
