These comments are classless if this response was to Boeheim's quote in the Post:

“He needs to stay in school and get better,’’ Boeheim told The Post’s Steve Serby. “The [NBA] developmental league is littered with guys 6-7 or 6-8. You’ve got to really be good. He’s a really talented player, but he needs another year.’’

I happen to believe Boeheim is 100% correct....

Lenny is right on the money as well when he says, "There is no question the 6-foot-8, 209-pound forward has NBA talent and potential, and a big part of the draft is about potential.But with his build Harkless looks more like an Olympic swimmer than an NBA small forward."

Anybody who watched this team consistently this year and watches the NBA regularly knows Moe is a few years away from making any kind of impact in an NBA game... his effort alone on a game to game basis was less than desirable.... show up one game, disappear the next.

Sorry Moe, you need AT LEAST another year....

Pretty scary that a person who would make these wreckless and patently immature statements on Twitter is advising an 18 year old kid on his career choice -- particularly given the magnitude of Harkless's decision.

I said this before and I say it again. The Nate Blues of the world are nothing but trouble.
 
Sounds like Nate Blue is just upset that if Moe takes Boeheim's advice that Nate would need 1 more year to cash in on his golden ticket. Clealry, Boeheim is qualified to give such an opinion. I understand it is just an opinion, but why would anyone react so childishly?

This is who Moe is listening to?
 
 Boeheim has seen a lot of talent over the years. What does he have to gain if Moe stays 1 more year. Cant fault Boheim for giving an honest,informed opinion. If any thing ,Moe staying, will make our game harder for SU.

I'll tread lightly b/c the last time I dared to criticize Nate Blue, I received the following response from Marillac, which was wildly supported by others: "We're lucky to have Nate Blue in our corner. Anyone that spits in his face like Boo clearly isn't a fan of this program. It's time Boo was shown the door here."

Blue's recent tweets are wildly inappropriate. If one of my fellow-posters tweeted the same, I would just attribute it him being a jackass. However, Nate Blue fashions himself as a mentor and advisor of kids like Moe Harkless. Presumably, Nate Blue has a significant amount of influence on the life-altering choices that these kids make.

Blue's comments on Twitter are not those of a mature, thoughtful adult. They reflect poorly on his judgment and his character. Put simply, someone who makes those kind of public statements is not somebody who should be advising young people.

While I don't pretend to know all or any of Nate Blue's motives, I cringe at the thought of any adult who feels compelled to take to Twitter, facebook or any other public forum to tout his association with an 18 year old kid. It strikes me that a healthy well-balanced person shouldn't derive his self-worth from who he knows or claims he knows.
 
 What comes around...Mike Jarvis came to STJ the year after his speech as head of NABC in which he decried the undo influence of AAU folks and the diminished impact of HS coaches, and of course STJ had been living off the Riverside AAU program for a decade, which then collapsed, and the rest of the AAU players got Jarvis back, but good. I dislike ad hominum arguments either way but history is history.

I heard from a high school coach that Blue is a dirtbag and the tweets just support what he told me
 
Since Fun isn't around lately I will take after him here.

With regards to Nate and how you feel about him- YMMV :p 

I don't like coaches commenting on kids like Jimmy B did. Was he out of line, no he was not. But my reaction would be even before today he has his own crap to deal with. Maybe he should worry about Fab, Fine and Drugs before whether or not Moe stays.
 
Twitter - its like Nate was sitting around with friends and making comments. Read further back, some of his twits are mature and  helpful in their own way.

I do not like Jim Boeheim or Syracuse. However, these twits or whatever you call them are extremely juvenile and self serving. Boeheim was asked a question and gave an intelligent answer based on his experience. He had nothing to gain by saying it would benefit Moe to stay in school one more year. On the other hand, the over the top reaction by Nate Blue lends credence to an earlier post that maybe he is in a hurry to cash in.
The scary part is that someone who so recklessly uses twitter is in a position to advise young men. In reality, if it weren't for Moe, no one would give a flying f--- about Nate Blue.
My hope is that one day a lot of these young men will wake up an understand that they should take control of their own lives.
 
This whole thing is getting stupid. Moe is going to do what he is going to do. Hopefully, whatever his decision is, it will be the correct one for him. If it is, or isn't, he's the one who has to live with it. I have my own opinions about what he should do, but rightfully so, I am sure he could care less about that. So, I put very little stock in what other coaches say in the newspaper or what his advisor says on Twitter. Moe's a young adult, and in the end, he'll do what he thinks is right for him, as determined by him and the people he trusts. But at this point in time, only Moe truly knows what he is thinking.

Fair enough but since his mom sits together with Nate Blue at SJU games you can be sure that Nate Blue has a great deal of influence on Mo's decision.
Blue's response to Boeheim's comments reinforce my belief that Mo is gone.
