Interesting story in today's N.Y. Times (I don't subscribe) about 3 Brooklyn players with D1 hopes. (Nick Vazquez, Leroy Fludd and Thadeus Hall).

They all attend Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Miss.

Fludd and Jones were teammmates at Boy's and Girls H.S.

Fludd was The PSAL Player of the Year

Hall was a standout at Thomas Jefferson.

The Jones County assistant coach is Sai'Quon Stone who went to Xaverian H.S.

If anyone can link the story it would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Previously Fludd had commited to Rutgers and Jones to South Carolina.
 
These are the type of kids Moose/Marillac (yes they are now combined in order to get the camp registration discount) were talking about. JUCOs who have travelled long and far for a variety of reasons, are D1 prospects, and can be enticed to cone home and play college ball.

Where did you get Nick Vazquez from?

The 3rd player is Bryce Jones
Nick Vazquez was originally from BK it said but moved to Mississippi awhile back.

Okay I see the it now. He is not playing this year but Leroy Fludd (Boys and Girls), Bryce Jones (Boys and Girls) and Thadeus Hall (Jefferson) are. Vazquez lived in Brooklyn before moving to Mississippi as high school freshman.

Yes, then he prepped a year at a school in South Carolina according to the article and didn't get the GPA he needed to qualify for Freshman Eligibility.

South Carolina I believe, he was a beast in high school, I was hoping we would get him. Maybe we still have a chance?
 
I have no idea why these kids would go to east bumblefuck to play mediocre juco ball. They would have been better off going to Sullivan if they wanted the dorm experience.

I put in a word or 200 for Cleanthony Early and Marvin Jean a little while back, but I don't know this new guy. Boys and Girls used to be a feeder...some good kids we had got from them.
 
FWIW if you're gonna farm a team with JUCO scorers shouldn't it have been Chipola with Morris, Cassell Jr and Torian Graham. I know Graham got into trouble in January but since the other two are committed anyone know what his story is?
