Just saw Evan Daniels put this out on Twitter. Why would this kid transfer AGAIN and have to sit out another year?

Wish him well.
Was not good enough for this level.
Williams time!

Immediately? That sucks, he was really coming along in all facets of his game. Is this because he feels Williams is passing him in the rotation and Mack is coming in to play ahead of him as well?

Averaged 5.9 PPG, while shooting 43% from 3 in 17.4 minutes a game

I repeat, this sucks

If his options are sitting out again, or playing scarce minutes before being recruited over, that seems like a pretty easy choice, no?

?
Literally stopped getting minutes. Deservedly so.
Good luck. Williams time!

Opens up another scholarship.

He may have seen the talent coming in, and realized he will not get much playing time going forward.

Do you know something you would like to share with the rest of the class?[/quote]

No I'm just saying it never fails with this place. There is ALWAYS something.

And I'm not saying Dixon is vital and important and this is a huge loss or anything like that. But its a continuous revolving door. Now looking back again I wish Greg Williams had more PT to start the year etc.

Does he get dropped from the team immediately?

I hear you, but he has been coming on well lately, and maybe it just took him some time to adjust to D1 basketball and that combined with us not blowing people out, kept him out of games.

I guess he is really unhappy. Recall that Heron was not in the cards when he came aboard, and now we are seemingly recruiting over him. He college career will be 6 years long. Very unusual to transfer twice when you have to sit out twice.

I don't blame him and kinda feel for him. But he has to do what's best for himself.

I like Williams A LOT.

If this is true, best of luck to Mikey, know that most of us will support you in your future endeavors. As an aside, posters might want to remember that kids who choose to commit to go to school here and play under scholarship are not professionals, and may want to refrain from referring to them as if they were chattel. Call it a New Year's resolution. :)

Staff gave him a shot. He did not perform and either because of effort or mental lapses his defense was simply atrocious. Then you could see him pouting when he came out. Trimble played harder and Williams is much better. Don't blame the staff for this and don't even blame Dixon for transferring anyway.

I would assume so and his ship will go to Steere since there is now one available for him. Assuming Shamorie also goes on to the draft then they've now created the space for all signees for next year. Any additional commitments for 19/20 will have to be offset with additional departures.

It has to make you wonder if this wasn't in the cards since Steere. I thought it was strange a kid like that would pay his own way to come here when there are dozens of similar programs who could have given him a ship.

My opinion of Dixon really crashed the last three games. His mental lapses are so puzzling for a kid in his third year of college...very tentative and always overthinking. His shot was nice though and he could score. I'd rather have him than not, but defense was going to get minutes from the trio of Dixon, Trimble, and Williams and Dixon was clearly the weakest link there.

I think Dixon is best suited for a lower A-10 team. I wish him luck...he was max effort, but probably in a bit over his head.

This is my soapbox. The easy schedule was perfect chance to get him time IMO. I've said that from Day 1. Instead Mikey played and put up decent numbers. He's first guard off bench. But now he leaves.

Regardless I have full faith in Greg. Impressive poise from him for a freshman. Looking forward to watching him continue his growth.
