Interesting story about Mike Dunlap's son, who is playing baseball in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan this summer and planning to play at UC San Diego this fall.
Talked a little about his dad's move from STJ to the NBA:
"I was really surprised," said Spencer Dunlap. "He went in for a couple of interviews and wasn't expecting much. He wanted to go through the process and put his name out there. When they asked him to come back I didn't think much of it, but we found out later that afternoon that he got the job."
While Spencer was happy to be with his family on such a big occasion, he was just as happy to get back to Moose Jaw. As a Division II head coach and a career assistant, Mike Dunlap was anything but a household name. In a day that changed.
"It was cool the first night. It was exciting going through that experience, but then it got a little too crazy for me, so I was ready to come back to Moose Jaw," said Dunlap. "Seeing your dad all over Twitter, Facebook and ESPN ... it was kind of weird. It was exciting, but I was ready to get out of there."
