He may be back in your good graces but he never left mine.It was heading the the wrong direction fast but Coach Mike really did a 180. Hes back in our good graces now and if he can land gardner and williams, he will be loved by all.
Agree completely. I've been saying all along that CMA will get a much much longer leash then any of our coaches post-Lou.I know there are many skeptics on here who want Anderson out after the season if he doesn't make the NCAA toruney. But I get the impression unless this season is a complete failure, that he's already done enough that he will be retained for next year. Not my personal opinion, just a guess on the way the administration views him.
I think if he pulls in a nice recruiting class, which I think he will, the administration would also have to take that into consideration.I know there are many skeptics on here who want Anderson out after the season if he doesn't make the NCAA toruney. As purely a coach, he's been better then some and worse then some. But he brings a level of stability and integrity that will keep him in the position, win or lose, for at least 2-3 more years IMO. In addition to the fact that the school does not want to have to deal with another coaching search unless they absolutely have too.CMA has clearly been a better coach than most we've had "post-Lou"
We also don't pay the type of salary that would entice a high profile guy to come here
Given both circumstances, CMA deserves a longer leash than others have had here

If he brings in the talent, I believe he will win enough for the administration. Will he win enough for the fanbase is the other question, because I do not believe that the expectations of the administration and the fan base are the same. Hopefully he wins so much that the 2nd question is moot.I think it will go one of the following ways......
1. If he brings in the talent and gets to the dance he's set for a while.
2. If he brings in the talent and still does not win, he maybe has two years at most to see how next years class pans out.
3. If he does not bring in the talent and does not win he will (should) be out within two seasons. Hopefully that will not be the case and the talent will arrive.
Right now everyone is back on the ship due to the anticipated recruiting successes but the bottom line is he has to win at some point in the not too distant future.
I agree with Monte that he is being given a longer leash then pat coaches but I believe that's due to Mike Cragg who has allot riding on Anderson's success as that was his first significant hire.
Thank you very much. Looking forward to our next meeting. He may be back in your good graces but he never left mine.

I firmly believe by far the majority of posters are CMA fans as he is our coach, came with a proven track record, better than any of his predecessors, is a great family man with upstanding values, and other than the exodus at the end of his second season has done a very good job so far. He clearly learned from that 1 time aberration, fixed or improved his staff, did not lose 1 player after the 2022 season to transfer, did very well on the transfer route and has hit the ground , together with his entire staff, running at 100 miles per hour. Recruits which are rated far superior than past classes are coming to visit months earlier than in the past. One has to be blind not to see the vast improvement which hopefully will turn into a strong 3-4 man recruiting class.I would like to think (hope?) most of us are big Mike Anderson fans. I was also a big fan of Norm, Mike, Chris and whoever else has coached the St. John’s team. Criticism is just part of being a Coach. As far as I know, none of us play a role in who the Coach is. I’ll sit back and cheer for the team no matter what happens. I feel like we have a good AD in Cragg and let him make the decisions on the overall direction of the Program.
In speaking with the group at Novita the other night, the general feeling was that we not only needed to make the dance, but win at least one game in order for them to consider the season a success. I set the bar at least making the dance. Depending on how the team performs during the regular season, and the Big East tournament, will determine whether just making the dance is enough for me to consider the season a success. Of course it is possible to consider the regular season a success and not feel the same about the post season, depending on how we perform in the post season. But at the bare minimum, we gotta dance.Cragg himself has stated that the goal/standard was to make the Dance, Let's hope he puts his money where his proverbial mouth is and holds to that standard.
