Is it what I expected- No- i am extremely biased and positive and thought we would be undefeated - Top 10 in the Country at this juncture. When... we are a "correct start of the clock" and a slightly below average shooting night from potentially** being undefeated - would we have beat Tennessee... probably not... but with this group of guys, you know we are gonna be in ever game... so i give us a 40% chance at a dub vs Tenn...

2 losses by 4 points. 0 notable wins of Note. 0 Bad losses. Sniffing Top 25.... not bad.

Player Evals:
Returners Expectations:
Exceeds
- Zuby / RJ / Sim. Whats to say that already hasn't been said... Zuby is a Beast. I want Sim to shoot it every time he's Open from 3. RJ- Still Captain of his Fan Club- and to the chagrin of some on here... i think he needs* to have 2 or 3 of the closed eye/head down drives per game to be able to play at his best level... sometimes your Stud needs a long leash... and his drives our best Offense at points in the game.

Meets- Ayo

Below- Brady- thought he was gonna come back Stronger/quicker - lights out shooter. Let's hope he comes back re-newed from his injury and can contribute effieciently

Transfers:
Exceeds- Smith. Wow. This guy is fun to watch- and brings the energy. Let's hope he continues to find the long range shot.

Meets- Scott. Very Solid Defensive presence. Need him to shoot 35% from 3

Below- Kadary / Vince. With Kadary- it was the extremely high expectations I had... #1 portal transfer- 1st All BE... his shot form is eff'd... has hit some pull-up though. I am not sure he is our Top 5, but i want him with the ball in his hands at Crunch time... that make sense? lol... He'll figure it out. Vince- thought we'd be getting a lil more- looks raw-er than i was expecting... good last game before BE games.

Freshman:
N/A - All. Jaiden is gonna be a player... Ruben- he can contribute. Hope all em stay.

18 games left.... We have the capability of beating every BE team. First time I've felt that way in a bit. Gotta improve the Foul shooting- Defense will keep us in every game.... 13-5.

Borderline top 25 so far

Other than tonight have really liked our defense. FT's and from 3 obviously need to improve

I think this teams passing ability can rival Jarvis early teams potentially

These kids are freaking easy as hell to root for

Now let's do some conference damage on other big east teams

14-4

Hopefully a lot of airline miles used in march and beginning of April

You're missing 2 games. We play 20.

I think Vince has played better than most give him credit for. If he plays in the low post, he can be tough.

Pretty good analysis by all above.

I do think Vince has shown he’s more than capable to give good back up minutes.

If they learn to play consistently all 40 minute, the ceiling is very high.

Will do damage in conference and then we’ll see.

We started the year just outside the AP Top 25 and that's where we currently are, so I'd give us a B for meeting expectations. Our OOC was just okay but the two Big East games added a lot to our resume. Also there's hasn't been anything major derailing our season (on or off the court), which you can never take for granted.

Really my grade just comes down to the three 50-50 games (Baylor, Georgia, PC). Win all 3 and we'd be an A+. Lose all 3 and we'd be a C. If we can go 2-0 this week then I'd bump my grade up to at least an A-.

Overall we feel like a tournament team but more of an 8-11 seed to me than the 3-6 seed I was hoping for.

There have been a lot of positives. We move the ball well, get a lot of easy baskets and are great offensive rebounders. On defense we make things very difficult for out opponents although we have to get better at guarding the 3 point line without getting beat more down low.

The negatives obviously start with Free Throw Shooting which isn't likely to improve much as Zuby and RJ go to the line by far the most and imo are shooting about where the likely will continue. Richmond is probably our best hope for improvement.

One thing for concern is that our opponents have been shooting free throws at a 66 percent clip which will not continue and free throw shooting will likely cause us another game or two.

We also need Wilcher to shoot more threes without a huge dip in percentage. Aaron Scott has to shoot the ball better as well.

The Dunlap injury shouldn't alter our season but we need Glover to step up his game to cover those minutes.

Vince and Reuben's rebounding will be important as well.

I am expecting us to finish at best 14-6 overall in conference and to be in the NCAA tournament. If we do better I will be thrilled and if we do worse I wouldn't be shocked.

As for grade to date I feel more like a B than a B plus. I agree with Adoraz that this week will be a good test.

As of this morning, we're a 7 seed. With 7 other BIG EAST members currently in Quad 1, there are plenty of opportunities to move up in the NET.

My grades:

Zuby: A-. He’s been our MVP, cleans up defensive mistakes and is catalyst for late second half runs. Need more consistency with foul shots and hope to see some more three point shooting.

Luis: A-. Has carried the team offensively and at times been our stopper. Has played more under control but needs to still clean up the mental mistakes late in the game. Late game FTs and more consistency from 3pt.

Sim: B. He’s been a different player since the Georgia game. Shots falling but finally playing with more energy and physicality on defense. Easily think he can improve his whole letter grade in conference play.

Smith: B-. Hard to give a guy a B if he gets himself suspended for a game and half. But can end up being our MVP by end of season. Hope he has one more year of eligibility.

Scott: B-. Great effort on D and does a lot of small things but must hit more 3s and limit some of the defensive lapses.

Kadary: B-. The hyperbole on this board is insane. Basically think the frustration everyone has about NIL is being put on him. Yes, needs to be better at FTs/finishing at rim/more consistent hustle, but he was also the reason we got to a OT and 2nd OT against Baylor + makes guys better around him. Needs to be better for us to also reach our full potential.

Glover: C+. Impressed by his defense against Providence. Will need to do that more in conference play to earn more minutes.

Vince: C. Just don’t see the impact he makes. Has to better position himself for rebounds and grab them.

Prey: C. Want to see more of him, think he has a lot more potential. Hard to say how good he’s playing with limited minutes.

Dunlap: INC. injuries make it unfair to judge. Hopefully he comes back and knocks down shots while maintaining his glue play.

Maker, Lefty: INC

Team overall: B. Baylor and Georgia games are rough to lose, but the potential is there for a very special season. This grade is also because the team hasn’t had opportunities to up it much since the bahamas

I thought Vince looked pretty good last night. If he keeps doing improving. He will be very servicable .
