Michigan post game brawl

Over the years I have seen coaches have arguments after basketball games but never have I seen a head coach attack someone like I saw after the Wisconsin-Michigan game.
I know Juwan Howard is a Michigan legend but what he did has to be considered a fireable offense..

BTW, who remembers the incident at Fordham in 1981 during a basketball game between Fordham and St. John's when Lou Carnesecca had to be restrained from attacking Tom Penders?  There were no punches thrown and they shook hands at the end of the game but we had a real hot tampered coach at one time but nothing like what happened today at the Wisconsin game.

No excuse for Howard initiating physical confrontation...also, not his first. There is footage of another control issue Howard had as a coach a few years back.

Everyone has a bad day, but he better come out Monday and take full responsibility and apologize.

When a coach becomes unhinged it creates a potentially very dangerous situation.   His players joined in the pushing and shoving that ensued, and had fans become similarly worked up we could have had a riot similar to what occurred in the Palace at Auburn Hills.

For certain Howard will be suspended, possibly for the rest of the season.

The Big Ten and Michigan have to send a clear message by suspending Howard for the rest of the season.  This guy has benefited by special treatment since high school because of his basketball celebrity status. It's time to bring him back into the real world where there are consequences. Slap, punch, whatever you want to call it was an assault viewed by millions of people.

I can't see Michigan doing any less then suspending him for the rest of the season. I think almost any program would be under a lot of pressure to do that. The Big Ten Conference is a very successful sports conference and I am sure doesn't want to tarnish its brand and Michigan has an academic mission that it at least needs to appear to be protecting.

I can't understand some bb fans trying to defend the actions of Howard by deflecting some blame on the Wisconsin coach for "touching " Howard's arm while trying to explain his time out.
Michigan players were told by their classless coach to press walk ons in the closing seconds of a lost game. The Wisconsin coach called a time out teaching moment.  The Michigan coach says I won't forget that?  Let Howard explain what he expected!  Too late. He's suspended for the rest of the season and his image is tarnished.
His arrogance is what got him into this situation. Let's see how he handles the suspension.

I've heard coaches explain why they call timeouts during garbage time in blowouts.  They say walk ins, and end of bench players work hard in practice and deserve to be coached in the waning moments as much as regulars do during the game.

Howard got off easy.

Guess Howard is the only one buying his BS excuse making and deflecting blame in his post game presser.

My first reaction: is that all?

I grew up in the era of Jeff Van Gundy trying to take down Alonzo Mourning all by himself.
