The below linked article from the Syracuse Post Standard reports that SU starting point guard Michael Carter-Williams was seen shoplifting from Lord & Taylor at Destiny USA shopping mall in Syracuse late Sunday afternoon and paid the store a $500 fine to settle the matter.

Mr. Carter- Williams was the starting guard this evening in SU's game against Canisius seemingly without any repercussions for his conduct

If true, that is BS that SU and his coach did not suspend him
 
Please note however that Mr. Carter- Williams is not the only University of Syracuse athelet to be arrested this month and be allowed to continue to play.  Two SU football players were arrested earlier this month for second degree harrassment, disorderly conduct, and one of the football players for resisting arrest after fighting with police officers and incredibly SU has said that both players will play in the upcoming Pinstripe Bowl..

So MCW can be arrested and not only play but he doesn't even get benched?

For a team as deep as Cuse playing against cupcakes right now?

If it were SJU players it would be backpage headlines, a black eye to the program, an indictment on Lavin and Father Harrington and all sorts of other stuff.

Same goes for the UNC academic "scandal".

The NCAA is a joke. And I'm quite tired of it.

Agree ncaa is a joke but in this case it is the school that is a joke as it is there place to suspend him for this type of situation. Far from that they probably gave him an extra $500 in his monthly brown paper bag "stipend".

First, Bobby Gonzalez, then Lindsey Lohan and now Michael Carter - Williams. This is unbelievable. Was it covered at all in the N.Y. papers? Afterall, this is supposedly New York's team.
Doesn't Syracuse have a Student Council to handle these kind of problems? Boeheim, you are a disgrace.
