Need Donovan to make a deep run next year.
Very impresed with Gonzalez and Guzan was terrific.
Critical point. Not to mention, it puts a little pressure on Mexico. The players have to deal with a couple of months of their media disect every elemient of their poor play so far.
I always thought this Mexico team was overrated. Yes they are the best of CONCACAF right now, and it was expected, mostly because this genration of Mexico players is the best thay have had in decades, and also because the US is in transition. I am confident the world cup cycle of leading up to 2018, the US will be better than Mexico. The US has finally changed some of its development from just playing and winning games, to increasing skill level. The U-21 and under are benefitting from this.
This group from Mexico was never going to be Spain, Germany, Italy, or Brazil, no matter how much ESPN tries to convince us. All you need to do is look at the struggles many of these stars from Mexico have in Europe, playing for their club teams.
