Metta Word Peace..Very Funny

I've been disappointed that Artest never seems to come back to SJ and take in a game or show much support for us. I know he's busy in the NBA, but players find time for this stuff. He was on TV recently and I said "the SJ alum!" and one guy turns to me and goes "Artest played for SJ? Really? Had no idea". I think that says it right there. Would be nice if he made his connection to his alma mater more.
 
Rumor is the admin doesn't want him around. Oh, and he certainly isn't an alum. Don't see him as the type to go back and finish his degree.

You could be right. I thought after the incident in Detroit more than a few posters indicated that, while he might not be persona non grata, the school would not be seeking out his participation for anything.

Couple things. I've never heard it. I'm also pretty sure he has been around during the offseason recently. And we do have Jayson Williams around and if anyone would be pushed away it would be him.

Bad character or not, Artest is the only nationally recognizable NBA player to ever play at SJ for people my age. We just missed the Mullin NBA years, Harkless is still a rookie and raw, and everyone else was older. It would mean a lot to recruits and current players to have him come talk.

Until he opened his mouth. Don't get me wrong. I think Ron is probably one of the nicest guys around but with a very distinct batshit crazy streak. Kind of like Russell's nephew on Survivor, right MJM?
 
I am surprised that no one commented on ..."After a brief conversation with the police, World Peace put on his Cookie Monster pajamas and accompanied them outside. Got to respect a guy in pajamas like that!
