Meta World "Peace"

Shows how much all of you know about history.

Ever heard of "peace through strength?" Meta World Peace does.

Metta World Peace has made the Los Angeles Lakers’ 15-man regular-season roster. The team waived guard Jabari Brown to make room for World Peace, 35, who has completed a journey back to the Lakers after stints with the New York Knicks, Chinese Basketball Association and Italian league. World Peace’s return to the Lakers includes a long-term plan to transition into an assistant coach for the franchise.

Just typing out loud, but could Metta World Peace someday, once Chris passes the baton with the team is good shape (fingers crossed), be considered as head coach of his alma mater.

I seem to remember reading over the summer that he was the highest paid player in the history of Chinese basketball... He's done some stupid stuff but I still love the guy who wanted to work a second job as an electronics store clerk in Indiana after getting his first NBA multi-million$ contract. Drummer=His Own A+

I remember him saying that he would love the head coaching job at SJU after Lavin was fired.

He's 36, so I would say that in about 15-20 years' time, he could be a candidate if he gets some serious experience under his belt. In the meantime, it's great to see him land on the Lakers roster. He's a survivor.

Also one of my all time favorites. He has gone through some rough times and his donation to mental health awareness make you think he is learning to deal with his demons constructively. He needs to learn a lot and see if he can handle the stress of a head coach position down the road.

I love Ron, but......God NO!

Just read an article about him in Yahoo .com.. He sounded humble and believe it or not sounded like he has a descent head on his shoulders. I see Matt as the person that Mullin might pass the baton to. In the article Metta said he would like to be a coach and is good at player development. I can see him as an assistant coach,

From being a complete pariah, he's really rejuvenated his image and his career. He must have a great locker room personality. He must also be great with with the upper management brass. Impressive.

I don't know which idea I find more outlandish, Artest as our coach or Felix as our PF.

I'll maintain forever, and I know I am in a distinct minority, that Ron got a raw deal over the Auburn Hills Palace incident. I watched the entire thing live on my T.V.

I will never forget Ron Ron almost single handedly willing us to a thrilling overtime victory against Duke at the Garden. Almost.

Coach K said both teams left their hearts on the court that day and no one more so than Artest.

Think Bootsy had 40 that game.

NBC sports has an article saying the Lakers plan on transitioning him to assistant coach and he is a mentor to some of the younger players.
