Messages for A St. John's Alum & Fan

Some of you may remember my post over the summer about a St. John's alum & SJU sports fan buddy of ours (we are all part of the St. John's family) who was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Leukemia. If you recall he was in the hospital for a few months but he came out after undergoing chemo and has been doing better but still not 100% by any means. Last week he went back in to the hospital (it was planned for him to start a new treatment) and then a few nights ago he took a really bad turn for the worse. He's on a respirator and has been unresponsive and last night we received a call that he would most likely not make it through the night. As of this morning he's proven them wrong and is hangin on.

You guys were great with your vibes and prayers before and I am asking for them again now. He's only 41 and has a beautiful 3 year old daughter who is already a big St. John's fan. I know there isn't much we can do from a message board but I showed him all of your posts & replies after he initially got sick and the smile on his face was priceless. Feel free to send him a message on here, I believe he will come out of this and he will eventually see all the well wishes from everyone on here. We Are...

I'm so sorry to read this. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Praying for a miracle for him and his family. I truly believe in miracles and have a best friend and sister who are still here and MDs cannot explain why.

I forgot to mention that during the last couple months since he's been out of the hospital he's been coming to the St. John's games, no way was he going to let this keep him from rooting on the Red & White in person.

Brother Johnnie, I’ll keep you in my prayers with hopes that you’ll be well rested and ready for our NCAA dance appearance next season.
NYC, you’re a good friend to him and to all on this board.

Prayers sent for a fellow Johnny fan to get well soon. Team needs you rooting them on next season to bigger and better things. You can do it and so can our team.

Don’t know him but am hit hard by this news...41 years old with a young family...good thoughts and prayers coming his way

We got a big east tourney to win next week and a nice recruiting class coming in for next year. God bless this person and let him know we need him around to celebrate where this team is going.

If anyone can beat this thing it’s Diego. He’s got the heart of a lion. Continued prayers for this truly incredible person who I’m proud to call a friend.

Wendell, he"s really blessed to have a friend like you. I'm sure you've made his illness easier with your care and support. Prayers for him and his family and you too.

I met him once at last seasons Seton Hall game were he arranged a group. I only spoke with him briefly but I remember him well. I pray for him and his family.
