Merry Christmas

Before my day gets really crazy, which is imminent, I want to wish each and every one of you, and your families and friends, a very Merry Christmas.

Beyond the glitter and lights, and wrapping paper and gifts, I wish for you a Christmas that endures - one that brings you a lasting joy, an inner peace, and a hope in humanity where you strive to be part of the goodness in this world.

Christmas is a holiday that the entire world has embraced and celebrated, even in secular ways, because there is so much positive about the virtues of it.

For those redmen.com'ers looking for the inner joy of Christmas, I'll quote from John, Chapter 15, a greeting not usually associated with Christmas.

"I've told you this, so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete."

God bless you all. Merry Christmas.

Thank you very much Beast and all!
Two mantras I actually think of year round...and which I offer to you and yours...

1. Tidings of Comfort and Joy!

-and my favorite Charles Dickens line at the end of the Christmas Carole:

2. "God bless us everyone"...

all the best

On this Christmas eve, as Sonny Corleone would have said, may you all eat with the fishes.

fried with a little west coast style for good measure: Cioppino

I made a pretty damned good Cioppino this past summer, with North Fork fresh fish, scallops and clams. Made me think of the Bay Area, where it originated. Aliotos on the Wharf :)

If you can't be in Richmond Hill, Santa Rosa is not a bad place to be! Dom DiMaggio sent my son a birthday card about 8-9 years ago, and wrote a note and invited me to stop by his place near the rowboats near Jones street. when we visited the next summer the place he was talking about was a retail store that had his name on it. The restaurant the DiMaggio family ran for years was right in that vicinity if not the same building. San Fran is a beautiful place.

Merry Christmas Paul, and thanks for facilitating a great website.
