Was watching my favorite Christmas movie last night " It's a wonderful life " and that line in the book that Clarance wrote for George Baily gets me everyttime and got me thinking " no man is a failure who has friends "

Thanks to Paul this site for over 20 years during mostly crap basketball has thrived. Why ? It certainly isnt because of the basketball. But it's becuase of the atmosphere on the site and people who previously either didnt know each other or had not much in common other than the love of the same basketball team who would never had met normally  becoming friends whether they have met or not.

When you think about it if you live in New York and you did s straight shot up to New Hampshire you will literally have redmen.com friends to stop by and meet up with in every state. Same thing if you drove to florida from new york. Jersey,Marlyland,Delaware,Virgiania,North and South Carolina. Georgia ? not sure on that one but if the devil went down to Georgia I gotta believe a Redmen.comer went there. Then Florida with all the full timers and snow birds. It's pretty stunning when you think about it. Every one of those states. Or you can go other places like Ohio.Kentucky,Texas,Hawaii ,Arkansas and of course the home base of Paul and a bunch of other redmen friends California. And a quick trip to Canada Redmen has that covered ( Belated Happy Hanukkah RMN ). Not that anyone wants to go to London right now with new Covid strain ( keep it out of the US Gman ) but Redmen has you covered there and Spain too

Covid sucks and has disrupted everyones lives some here a lot worse than others whether it be family or jobs etc. But like the note in the movie said " no man is a failure who has friends " well thanks to Paul every single poster here is a huge success with all the friends we all have

Merry Christmas and belated Happy Hanukkah and hope all your families stay safe in 2021

Great post MJM! Although I've only been posting on redmen.com since early 2017 when I retired, I've been reading it for 20 years and feel like I know so many of the great posters here. Along with email, it's the first thing I look at every morning and usually the last before hitting the sack at night.

It's been a particular lifesaver during this tough year when so much time was spent at home. I'm admittedly an optimist but I just have the feeling that 2021 is going to be great year for all of us (even the Johnnies) as we come out of seclusion and get back to seeing all those friends (and family) MJM refers to. Onwards and upwards and the happiest of holidays to redmen.comers everywhere!
God bless & Godspeed.

Merry Christmas, belated Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Year MJMjr. and all dotcomers from the wilds of New Jersey where I know at least I have JSJ and Darrin along side me.

Because of this site (THANK YOU PAUL), I've survived some turbulent times with (thankfully resolved) health issues, always to find comfort in fond, funny, irreverent, informed and cogent posts (mostly). I feel like I know a lot of the posters but have met only a few in person so far (Meane Gene and Tony in Fairfield). Having attended a bunch of Red White events, I msut have met many posters without knowing it. My goal in 2021 and beyond is to meet more posters in the flesh so I can put a face with a name or a "handle".

Here's to my text group virtual friends, MJMjr, Wendell, John, Brian, Darrin, Tom, et al. also Monte, what a blast he is.

Rest in Peace Diego who I never got to know.

Happy and Merry.

Merry Christmas to all Redmen.com posters. Everyone have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season!!

Great post Mike! I was in the Finger Lakes this summer and we took a ride to Seneca Falls which may or may not be the town that it's a Wonderful Life is based on but it takes the credit. Classic movie.

Merry Christmas, belated Happy Hanukkah and given we don't play again this year, an early Happy New Year to everyone!

It's redundant to say this was a rough year. Who knew what was in store for us after the Creighton game was stopped at halftime. It was nice to get the win against Georgetown to close out 2020.

I can't wait to get back into CA for the 2021-22 season and while unlike you Mike, I do go there, I definitely don't enjoy the accommodations. Getting back to MSG seems like such a luxury.

I have changed a lot over the almost eight years fhat I have been posting here besides getting older. I have accepted that being a St. John's fan will never be easy but along with that enjoying the games doesn't always have to be about winning and losing. The connections I feel to the other posters couldn't exist at a Duke or Kentucky. This is a unique group and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Great post Mike, and thank you Paul for this great community. When I started at UConn nearly 20 years ago, and decided I was going to remain a St. John's fan because I'm a New Yorker and this is NY's Team, and not to root for UConn, I felt like I was alone on an island. Finding this site was like helping me find a family who I could share my passion with. Very thankful to have this place to come to multiple times a day to interact with an awesome community of St. John's fans. Happy Holidays all!

Agree with almost all the sentiments expressed in this thread but cannot understand why every time I see a new place to dine I check out if they serve lobster rolls.  Merry Christmas to all.

Christmas is always merry with Lobter rolls. And it's on topic

Merry Christmas everyone.  I'm lobster roll deprived but my daughter brought home this beautiful piece of meat.  it is currently getting a rosemary high to get  "happy" for tomorrow's dinner. Also making homemade meat sauce for my daughter's Christmas lasagna.  Went to confession yesterday and the priest didn't kick me out of the church so that is good.  Feeling grateful and blessed.  Joy to the world and especially to MainMan.

MJM what a great post. It truly was the post of the year with LMF's post of yesterday a close second. Both posts speak volumes of the admiration and respect we have for one another in this forum. We are there for milestone highs and unfortunately some very sad lows. But we are there for one another and as has been pointed out while many of us have never physically met we know we have friends out of town, throughout the country ( in some cases North America, myself and firestorm ) and in Europe. Take a second to think what an amazing feat that is, we are all truly better people as a result of our acquaintance through Redmen.com.
wishing my entire Redmen.com family a very healthy and happy Christmas.
g d bless everyone and their loved ones.
