At the Under Armour Brand store, 7-10 PM, 538 Broadway. Discounts on merchandise, cash bar, previews of the season for both teams. Complimentary admission but I think you may have to register on the school's website, not sure about whether that's necessary.

I think the last time I wore a medium I was in the 4th grade :)

I'm at the event and they are selling St Johns of Minnesota apparel and trying to sell it as our stuff. Unreal

In fairness to St. John's, UA acknowledged that it was their mistake and once it was brought to their attention they took down the SJU Minnesota items. They even gave out 40% off vouchers for UA items to their credit.

Wait a minute, they gave out vouchers? How did I miss that?

Nice meeting you there NYCRedmen.

Same SJU85, always nice to meet fellow posters. At one point one of the UA guys came over to us and gave out the vouchers. He expressed his regret over the incident and asked not to hold it against St. John's. We were part of a group that was very upset about the merchandise mix up and we were not being quiet about it.

PWhile the event was a nice get together, the St. John's there really wasn't a wide selection of merchandise (for either school) and outside of a nice pair of overpriced sweats, there wasn't anything special. No wow factor.

I was told the "discount" was if you spent $100, you got a free tee shirt.

As for Lavin, he mentioned that one of the keys was the fact that he has a bunch of seniors who have 83 (I believe that is the number he gave) games of experience and that will be a key. He talked about recruiting and how he is recruiting the metropolitan area to get the best kids but it doesn't stop there and he will go to other parts of the country and even over seas to get the talent. He mentioned that they were close to getting an area kid but he wasn't allowed to go into specifics. He also joked how Coach Joe Tartamella and the Women's team with their success was making it tough on him and the Men's team.

Coach Tartamella mentioned that Kyra Dunnwho is a transfer graduate student form Cal-Berkley was granted eligibility to play this season. Sorry I missed the rest of his comments as I was all the way in the back and involved in n important conversation at the time.
