Before your time? Only other thing I took from the whole session was JaKarr's ears looked flatter than the day he first announced for us on ESPN. :)
 
 Darrick Martin said D'Angelo has the potential to be a poor man's Chauncey Billups.

I think we'd all take that.
 
PS, as a Soph Billups averaged 19.1ppg, 4.9rpg and 4.8apg shooting 41/40/85. Given this year's depth, yes I imagine we would all sign on for that.

He didn't specify but I would think he was talking about the pro Billups.

But those stats are certainly attainable for Harrison. Not sure if he could pull that off as a soph though IMO.

Great to know as that is the one position we could certainly use help at.
 
I watched St. john's media day on ESPN3 and think that Lavin and company did a great job promoting the school and program.

It is nice to see the St. john's program promoted on the national level.

I am looking forward to the start of the season.

This actually comes as a huge shock to me, despite his top-75(?) ranking. I hope this means he's awesome and not that Jakarr will be slow getting out of the gate for us.
 
 Another interesting tidbit I saw from the coverage of media day:

"Lavin said both Harrison and fellow sophomore guard Phil Greene have been bothered by some nagging injuries in the preseason -- Greene to his hip, Harrison to his foot -- but neither injury appears serious."


Had heard about Phil at midnight madness, but not Harrison. Hopefully neither injury lingers.

That was my thought. Sproling became a fan of the Johnnies when we played Kentucky in the '85 regional out in Denver.

Yeah, I remember him saying that he met the team and got some autographs. They treated him nicely and he became a fan. Incredible scorer in HS. I wish he could have done the same at SJU.
