I was listening to espn radio before, and they were saying it's gonna happen.

This is boxing, love Conor Mcgregor but he won't be able to touch Floyd Mayweather in the ring. I would definitely watch because I think Floyd is one of the best boxer's of this generation but it will be very similar to what Floyd did to Arturo Gatti (RIP) back in the early 2000's. More challenging fights for Floyd would be Errol Spence Jr, GGG based on size but I think Floyd could outbox him and neautralize his size. Terrance Crawford or even a more seasoned Canelo would be entertaining fights for Floyd.

This is a joke that a lot of suckers will buy into
Mayweather will make him look silly for 12 rounds
A waste of time, just like the Alvarez - Chavez Jr debacle
Not only will I not buy it, I won't even watch the replay on HBO/Showtime
 
I would buy it if it was someone like Marvin Hagler vs the MMA guy. i would like to see a knockout and not dancing.
 
McGregor is nothing more than a circus act. Heck, Nate Diaz kicked his backside the first fight and many would argue Diaz won the second fight in which McGregor won by majority decision. Now he is supposed to beat Mayweather. I don't see that. :lol:

McGregor has no chance. If Mayweather wants to knock him out in the first round he will. If he wants to carry him for a few rounds, he will. This will be an embarrassment. Plenty of good fights coming up this year, this one ain't one of 'em.

This does not qualify as a "good" fight
They'll dance together (probably choreographed) for 12 rounds and call it a day
And make a fortune for their lack of efforts
Anybody who buys this fight on PPV is a knucklehead!!

I said it wasn't a good fight. I said it would be an embarassment.
 
The thing I'm most interested in is whether McGregor really believes he can make it a fight, or if he knows he's going to take an incredible beating but thinks a huge payday is worth it.

Floyd will win on points, he's been doing that his whole career.

But, what if McGregor got that one lucky punch and knocked Floyd out, and beat Floyd at his own living, it would be bad for boxing.
Floyd is in a no win situation.

2011. And I'd still bet on a KO. I actually don't believe fight will ever happen, though.
 
Mayweather likely aint ko'ing him. Connor has boxed before but has been fighting without gloves for the longest. Lot harder to get knockouts with gloves on. That's why there are lots more rounds. Bare knuckles much more brutal.. That said, mayweather is light years better boxer. In a street fight McGregor wins hands down. Boxing, Mayweather will toy with McGregor. McGregor will have no answer because he can't throw kicks, elbows etc. it's a money grab. They'll make it look good. Mayweather will win.

True but McGregor is playing a part - consciously. That said most high level MMA guys in the class would destroy Mayweather in MMA. but in boxing seems to me that McGregor is in it just for the big publicity which he is capitalizing on regardless of whether it ever happens. Same with White.
