Marquette, Sun. Jan. 24, 3:45pm, 970AM-TV Delayed

Thought we had a shot in this game, but after losing to Depaul, I fully expect Marquette to take their anger out on us.

A loss next week to Seton Hall, and we are likely staring a 16-game losing streak right in the face. The only good thing about this is that you know it just burns up Syracuse fans to know that we haven't won since beating them.

The real question is, will the Garden get even 500 people Saturday night, with this expected storm? I live two blocks from an LIRR station, so as long as they don't shut down the railroad, I'm good. A lot of other people may not have this luxury, however.

SJU doesn't have a single player who would start for Marquette.
It's absolutely incredible that this team has been as competitive as it has this season.

I would offer this in terms of the rest of the season: Yes, we can lose all 18 games, and that would be horrible.

I will repeat what I said after the Xavier game. In that game a lot of people on here were really enthused that we came very close to beating Xavier at CA, and were upbeat despite the loss. What I said then, and will repeat now. Then I cautioned that we are going to have a hard time beating anyone. I said that for us to beat a good team, the stars have to align. We have to bring our A game and have a better team have an off day. Even without Sima, we may just surprise just about anyone on our schedule. Home games mean a lot, and if our fans continue to show up and become the 6th man, we may just steal a couple of games So what I said before, still applies, only in a more positive way. I still believe we can win two, possibly even 3 games in league.

Yes DePaul is tough even as a lower rung team, and top to bottom, the Big East doesn't have a lot of dogs. That doesn't man that even the mangiest dog (us) can't be better than anyone, if only for a game.

LIRR will shutdown if cloudy.
8PM gametime? Hope the game is played.

Marquette will be flying into town tomorrow I'm sure, so the game will be played no matter the weather. SJU played Seton Hall in an absolutely massive ice storm 2 years ago in which there were maybe 200 people at the Rock.

Spahn and Sain and pray for rain.

Do we get 1/2 a win for a no decision?

I'm finally able to make a game and was gonna purchase day of- city based so travel shouldn't be an issue. If any LI season ticket holder can't make the trek given the elements, let me know, and I will gladly do you section proud.

Much appreciated. I know people don't like ticket begging in the game section...apologize in advance, but too lazy to make a new thread.

I remember a game 10-12 years ago where there was massive snow on a Sat or Sun for a 12 n game. Both teams were in the City and it didn't matter about ticket holders, only TV scheduled mattered. Needless to say I didn't get in on NH RR but the game was played. Good luck for Sat.

I recall that game Theo. Was supposed to go and didn't make the trip because of issues with public transportation. I think Obekpa won the game at the free throw line, amazingly.

I was at that game. It was annoying because my wife and my friend's wife(my friend who is a Hall fan) get us tickets to a St. John's/Seton Hall game every year (rotating venues). They got us court side seats but since there was so few people there they made an announcement before the game started that everyone can move down and sit where ever they want.

#mubb will depart for NYC this afternoon for Saturday's game at St. John's. As of now, still planning on 7 p.m. CT tip at @TheGarden.

Unless they are flying a charter a lot of Friday flights already have been cancelled

Great news for all the concession, maintenance and other low-level workers who have to make their way thru unsafe blizzard conditions in order to make this game happen.

Army is playing Navy during the day in a men's/women's DH so assume they will be there.

Also, I assume this game is played as they would have to move to Carnesecca if rescheduled as MSG does not have many open dates.

Does your new avi mean you're a Bundesliga fan? ;) :)

Nova cancels their game tomorrow, reschedules on Sunday.

I know Philly is supposed to get a little more snow, but why does it always seem like SJU is behind the curve when it comes to taking care of its fans?
