Mark Lyons to transfer from Xavier

6'1 scoring PG and native of the Albany area that averaged 15.1 ppg for Xavier in its Sweet 16 run. He is currently a redshirt junior that is scheduled to graduate this year and be eligible to play right away. He played at both South Kent and Brewster and was the #103 recruit according to Rivals.

The kid has a nice stroke, shooting 39.2% from deep on 4.4. attempts per game, and gets to the line pretty well. He can score the basketball, and that is something I think STJ next year could really use to bridge the gap for Greene and Garrett to get there. I could see him going to Arizona to reunite with Miller for a year while McConnell has to sit. I hope Lav tries to get him to come home, because he fits the system perfectly.

Junior Year: 15.1 ppg 3.2 rpg 2.8 apg
Soph Year: 13.6 ppg 3.1 rpg 3.1 apg
Frosh Year: 7.8 ppg 2.5 rpg 2.8 apg

Wh at could we possibly have to loose w him. Branch wont be eligible untill 2nd semester, immidiate eligibility, 1 year investment.

Per Zags.... The frontrunners seem to be 'Zona, Kansas, and Kentucky.

I like the kid a lot because of he is from the same area as me and Xavier is probably my second favorite team but Im not sure he and De can co exist. He does compete though that is for sure. Id like to see him go to kentucky and get a shot to shine in the spot light

He coexisted with Tu Holloway at Xavier for the last three seasons.

Of course he was part of the incident with Cincy this year and was suspended for 1 game I believe. That being said, I would at least kick the tires.

Im not saying I dont love him as a player SJU, but he is not a point guard, in fact I would call him a poor mans Deangelo. Tu played the point for Xavier. If he would embrace coming here and being our super 6th man than I would love to have him but I dont see him doing that with his one year of eligibility remaining.
