Marcus Hatten

Far too often players leave and never again give a hoot about SJU. The fact that one of the best players in school history still speaks so highly of SJU is great in my eyes. I'd love to have him on board in some capacity to get his 2nd career started.

I’d love if he made it back here at some point. We do lose too much of our own blood. He love SJU and wants to coach. Need more like that. Maybe some day we get a lifer in here.

You're joking, right? We have Mullin, who could be a lifer, but we are not patient enough as a fan base to let him learn the ropes on the job without half of this board calling for a coaching change in less than five years.

Maybe MCN meant someone who works way up from DOBO to asst to HC.

Marcus was a great Johnny and sounds like a great guy. Got to figure a way to get him on the Staff. He deserves it and the program would benefit by him rejoining the tradition.

Natural professional progression is akin to evolution, might not sit well with the Mullin fundamentalists. And on the 8th day God created #15. ;)

I'm all for it. Who do you guys want him to sit behind while he "naturally progresses", and what happens when we fire that guy after 5 years? Do you see what I am getting at? You can't ask for a lifer and then keep firing coaches every 5 years because that staff leaves with the HC, so you need someone that we can all be patient with. If that's not Mullin, please tell me who it is. Also, I am not a "Mullin fundamentalist" as you put it, I am simply looking for a long term solution and I am willing to go with our current HC as I don't see any big names banging down our door for the opportunity to coach us for the next 5 years.
