Thanks for two good years at St John's, Malik
I hope that you are happy and successful at your next school

According to Rothstein, Ellison is down to Pitt, Virginia, and Harvard.

Harvard? Good for him!

It's always been known that he was in good academic standing. In fact. one of the reasons we went after him was because we knew he would have no trouble being eligible (remember how desperate we were for players).

He was smart. Smart enough to leave! But dumb as a doorknob on the basketball court.

I understand you are frustrated with the state of the program and the fact that improvement is not happening fast enough for your liking. But is it really necessary to bash the program and the kid together ? The program I can understand but why the kid ?
Can't you just wish him well ?

I like Harvard for him. He can make an impact and get a great degree. Virginia is a great school also but don't see him getting as much playing time. If he wants to play in the NCAA's Virginia is the place.

If he's got the grades, he should go Ivy -- any Ivy -- as well as add a school like William and Mary to the list.

Like you said, UVa will be tough to see the floor. But if he's going to seriously consider them, he should add Northwestern and Stanford to the list as well. If stellar academics + football conference is top priority, he may see the floor a little more at those places these days.

St. John's transfer Malik Ellison tells me he cut his list to Virginia and Pitt. Will make a final decision next week. #SJUBB

Is this really necessary. The young man came here when we did not have anything.
Best wishes in all of your future endeavors Malik.

I am thinking Pitt.

Have to play defense for Virginia, will certainly learn under Bennett.

I think he ends up there. Bennett might be able to do something with him given the redshirt year.
