Making the Garden "our" home

 Why can't we get the Garden to hang our banners in the rafters for the Final Four, NIT championships, Mullin's jersey, others, etc. Like Looie's victory total banner!

They can take them down when it is not a St. John's home game.

I don't think the Garden will ever do it, but don't other major arenas do it for the local college team: The Rock, The Dunk in Providence, Hartford Civic Center (XL), etc.

Getting much more Johnny stuff in and around the Garden would help make it more like our home.
 
Finding the following post on the Syracuse board, makes my blood boil and shows why I think we need to enhance St. John's Garden Experience, hey Steve Lavin did it with the locker rooms:

I think the garden experience will only be rectified when SJU is winning 20-25 games plus a year. I happen to be a glass is half full kind of a person and feel that we started toward that this season with a great group (though too small) of players, and will hit it next season.
 
Suggestion for a counter t-shirt. A white shirt with the single word "Dome" on front, printed in red, of course. And then artfully, or with Photoshop, somehow cross out the "m", and replace it with "p".

I believe the Garden has been allowed to be taken over by a weak AD.
Moanasch has failed in many ways to attract larger crowds with no promotions

1-The Garden only tix plan should be brought back asap to bring back loyal fans who cant make it to queens.
2-students should be allowed $5seats to any Garden game with a free bus ride from campus
Their tuition is high enough, get them into the building to support this young team
.Seat them in the Loge level behind the basket to back up the court level student tix base.
3-St.J,s should Have a HS day inviting all kids with a hs ID into upper deck for $2 a Sat Noon game
4-Chris Mullin Jersey reitirement Night with free bobblehead :woohoo:
5-Start selling throwback jeresys * Mullin Berry Jax Sealey* & wear the 1985 jersey again in several big games!

I really like all of these ideas..

1. I know a lot of people who do not buy season tix because they cant make the games in queens even though its only $275 for a tix.. I tell them so what just sell them or dont use them, but they just see it as a waste. Thye should make it $200 for a Garden only package and it should come with a red shirt a cap so people wear red to the game.... A lot of Manhattanites would start comming.

2. I think garden tix should be free day of game with your ID and if you have season tix you get your money back by swiping in... we need students big time crowds have been getting better but still... 30K a year should get you some ball tix... However I like the students all sitting low together.

3. $2 - $5 tix for local highschoolers - I agree better something than nothing... there are so many empty seats in the upper bowl for most(all but cuse and duke) garden games. Is'nt it better to sell 3,000 tix for $5 rather than nothing? They should start with the catholic hich schools in Queens, and the other 4 bouroghs as well as the LI Catholic schools. I definately would have do this in high school. Also all the catholic schools on LI do a College credit program with SJU anyway, where HS classes convert to SJU credit.

5. Great idea.. I found a site that sells throwback Artest jerseys and you can use the template to make your own custom jerseys. Will cost $52 a piece and the quality is good, not as good as the offical Nike ones but still good. I have a World Peace one on order but you could also do Jax, Seally, Berry ect.. PM me if interested.



Playing some games in throwback jerseys would be sweet. I

Unless you're some Uconn/Cuse troll, why the f*** would you waste your money on such a stupid jersey? Even if you are a Uconn/Cuse troll, I still don't understand why you'd waste your money on such a stupid jersey.

I also suggested a Oldtimers game with formers stars of 90's vs 80's etc on another post.

Its really incredible that the largest Catholic Uinv. cant fill the Garden with more than a couple thousand students its a embarassment on Monasch watch that needs fixing asap.

Ed Manetta was a Better AD that filled the Garden & packed the RED&White club.
Ed's mistake was hiring Jarvis instead of Bob Mckillop
