LoVett

At what point do you not even consider someone an SJU player? To me Nuri Lindsey is someone like that. I don't consider him an SJU player. He barely played. When he did he was horrible. Borderline point shaving at times. And quit mid season. Is Lovett in that category? It's close to me. I never expected him to last more than two seasons total. He sat out one and played 1 and a half or barely.

Unlike Lindsay, who never did a thing for us, Lovett was one of my favorite players the one full year he played for us. However, the manner in which he bolted the team completely soured me on him. While I still consider him an SJU player based on his one very good year with us, I have little or no interest in following his post SJU doings. As Michael Corleone said to Fredo, he's nothing to me now.

I agree that Lindsey inexplicably quit on the team. He also couldn’t shoot to save his life and missed two critical free throws in the NIT when we were down one with no time life. That said, in the few games he played, he showed some flashes of brilliance.

I get what you are saying and agree with the sentiment. Two very self centered guys who put themselves way above the team. Lovett single handedly wrecked what could have been a dancing team. Lindsay could simply have asked Dunlap, "coach what do I have to improve to play well at this level?". Arrogant Lindsay rode it to Rider, where he also sucked. Lovett can be one of millions watching sju vs. Duke instead of playing in a game that will get national attention, and not in some obscure gym and meaningless game.

I only consider a player part of the SJU family before they commit or after they transfer, because that to me is when they achieve their true potential.

The game vs. Detroit to this day it looked like he was throwing the game. I swear he threw 5 balls into the stands.
