Losing streaks

Does anyone know what the longest losing streak in school history ( for the basketball team) is and when that happened?

Yep, you are witnessing it...9 and counting.

I knew it was going to be a rough season, but this is worse than I ever thought.

1 or 2 conference wins if we are lucky? No wins? Yikes.

And, if the streak gets to 11, you can pretty much pencil in 16 straight losses. Look at that five game stretch from 1/31 to 2/13. Will be tough for us to be competitive in any of those games, even with maximum effort.

Hopefully, we get rewarded for this next year, and in the following years.

When do they start discounting tickets. Or better yet just give them away

They won't give them way but judging by the blocks of tickets on Stubhub, I think they are quietly dumping them. Like professional franchises, they will still sell at face value through their ticket office, but they will also dump to consolidators.

Every home game remaining, except DePaul, is on the weekend. It might not be such a bad idea to give away tix to youth groups. Just a couple of hundred every game might not be such a bad idea.

SJU will start giving them away when they got back the money your boy Lavin and his staff swindled his last two seasons leaving us with one of the worst rosters in Division I basketball this year.

Not in a position to say whether we do or not, but we should definitely do this. We've lost an entire generation of NYC kids to Syracuse, Duke, UNC, and Kentucky fandom. Don't let more kids slip away. Start them loving us young, because we sure as hell aren't the type of program that routinely picks up tons of fans midstream.

One ex-staff member's cash is spread among 20 different women who aren't his wife, so we're never going to see that cash again.

The reality is that StJohn's very likely will not win a single league game this season.

KenPom gives StJohns little or no chance to win most of its remaining games. It's best chances are next Saturday against Marquette (a 33% chance of winning), and on February 17th at home against DePaul (46% chance, 19% away). The computer gives StJohn's single digit chances against Villanova (4%@home/1% away), Seton Hall (6% away/19% home), Xavier (2% away), Creighton (6%), Georgetown 8%) etc.

Next season StJohns record will resemble this season's Marquette with promise but disappointments on way to 16-17 wins and 6-7 in Conference victories.

The above being said I believe that Mullin and his staff are doing the best job that can be expected playining the hand that has been dealt them and the players albeit playing tired are playing hard.

I wish Lavin wasn't the FoX in Studio guy on our Telecasts. I just can't stand him for Mailing it in on the Recruiting front like he did the last 2 years.. I doubt he will ever Coach in a big time program again, except at SFrancisco or some other West Coast Team, that just wants a Name.

Many here, never heeded the warnings the UCLA fans advanced when he was hired and for the most part, they were all correct.

I agree, and history may be repeating itself. LV Review Journal had two stories re candidates for Rebel job. Lavin evidently has some booster support, mainly because they find him more personable, as compared to the ex-coach, Dave Rice. Another story, from a usually reliable writer has Pitino putting out feelers. Supposedly, the deal would include the son, Little Ricky, who would get the job when Slick Rick retires. I think Lavin story it is more plausible.

Little Ricky may not be at Minnesota much longer if they keep playing the way they are.

And the Bunny Ranch is an easy drive.

I suppose Lav could bring "Too Big to Fail" Rico, ideal location.
